3 Wide - It’s Starting to Heat Up!

06/14/22 • 24 min

Starting off this weeks show we have exciting news to share about the future of 3 Wide you don’t wanna miss! Trackhouse took another checkered flag at a road course this time from first time winner Daniel Suarez! We breakdown all that Suarez has went through in his career and what to look forward to now that he has checked that important box. Kyle Busch was able to win Saturdays truck race to avoid a winless season in that series. I also go over Hocevars week and weekend and how it came out as positive as it could. I also dive deep into the playoff outlook for both series and how the upsets may come more than once for the Cup stars. While it may be an off weekend for the Cup and Xfinity series the Trucks go back to Knoxville in what is sure to be a race for survival. What does Tanner Gray and Matt Dibenedetto need to do to keep their playoff hopes alive? We discuss it all on 3 Wide.

3 Wide - Just Hard Racing
play

07/26/22 • 31 min

Another exciting week of racing is complete this time from Pocono Raceway. We had the truck series set their playoff field and I go over the first 3 races and the two drivers that I think will be eliminated but could still surprise us. On the Xfinity side we had an incredible battle between Noah Gragson and Ty Gibbs in what was just a sample of what we will see come playoff time. I also go over Sheldon Creed finally picking up so momentum as well as Jeb Burton and Brandon Brown's struggles the past few weeks and the coming week. Before the drivers could even get to driver intros news broke that Kurt Busch would be out putting Ty Gibbs in the car for his first career spot. We also had Denny and Ross get together again in what was NOT payback, rather not giving an inch between the two drivers. I discuss why this rivalry is the best thing going for the series and how it's even better NASCAR hasn't stepped in. Denny would stay in the headlines as he and Kyle Busch were disqualified after finishing 1st and 2nd giving Chase Elliott the win. We go over what the penalties were as well as Denny and Chase's response. There was so much to talk about we couldn't fit it all in this show so be sure to click the link below to our new YouTube channel on Tuesday night to see what wasn't discussed.

Chase Briscoe ended the west coast swing by claiming his 1st career win, and I review the race and the drivers that took their turn dominating the desert. And which ones are looking to keep their hot start to 2022 going? We discuss that and preview the upcoming Atlanta race!

3 Wide - Business Just Keeps Picking Up

Michigan International Speedway did not disappoint as Kevin Harvick snapped a 65-race winless streak to put himself in the playoffs. While Harvick triumphed, Ryan Blaney and Martin Truex now have to battle it out on points for the final spot......as long as there are no new winners. Ty Gibbs got his 5th win on the season and his 1st Cup top 10 now the question is will he move up to full-time Cup in 2023? Bubba Wallace gave an emotional interview after what was probably his strongest run this season. Can he shake off the miss of a near win and keep his hot streak going? We also look over why Richmond being run on a Sunday afternoon instead of the usual Saturday night running, and what that could mean for the crowd. It was a truly chaotic weekend from the winners, officiating decisions, and all the crashes. We go over who survived this weekend and locked themselves in the playoffs. Kurt Busch pulled his waiver giving Martin Truex Jr. the final spot going into the race however it wasn't enough as Austin Dillon survived the melee into turn 1 on a wet track. We discuss what may have been going on in the NASCAR booth as well as the view from a friend who was at the race. Jeremy Clements survived his race as well and scored just his 2nd career victory locking himself in the playoffs and putting Cassill on the edge of missing it. I talk about NASCAR's decision to throw the caution at the end and if they were surrendering to the chaos that was the Xfinity race. With the Cup playoff field set I look over the 3 races in the Round of 16 and discuss why Austion Dillon is no driver to sleep on, and give a couple surprising picks on who I think will be eliminated.

3 Wide - Home Track Triumphs
play

07/12/22 • 34 min

This weekend we had racing coming from both Mid-Ohio as well as Atlanta Motor Speedway with popular wins across the board. Parker Kligerman kicked things off hanging on for his first win in 5 years. Then moving down south we had hometown drivers Austin Hill and Chase Elliott sending their fans home happy with a win. Ross Chastain continues to ruffle feathers of his fellow competitors as he was at the center of a multi-car crash as well as another run in with Denny Hamlin. On Saturday, we had a relatively calm Xfinity race as drivers broke apart in single file groups and Austin Hill was able to hang on as Daniel Hemric was the only driver to attempt a charge at him. We discuss how Austin has quietly been putting together quite a string of solid races as well as the driver who finished second to him. Parker Kligerman and Zane Smith put on an excellent battle for the win in the truck series, and we go over Parker cementing his case to be a full-time driver and how Zane showed young drivers can race with respect. With New Hampshire coming up can Aric Almirola reclaim some magic last year and head back to Victory Lane? Or can one driver translate recent Xfinity success into the Cup series? I also give an update on a new platform you can find this podcast as well as update our new YouTube channel!

3 Wide - Let the Silly Season Begin!
play

07/19/22 • 30 min

Even though we were one series short on action we were not short on breaking news and big wins. Christopher Bell comes through with a clutch win to put himself in the playoffs at the moment. We breakdown Christophers big day as well as the outlook at the rest of the regular season for the Cup series. While the playoffs are exciting and put emphasis on wins is crucial is it fair that it could cost two of the more consistent drivers a shot at the championship? Justin Allgaier continued his hot streak and came away with another victory in what was a much more entertaining race than I was planning on seeing. We go over all the top names taken out during the race and the drivers who stepped up and took advantage of it. With the Truck series regular season finale coming up who gets in Kraus or Crafton? I give my take on what the strategy should be for Kraus and his team. And silly season kicked off in a big way as Tyler Reddick took his name off the list as the top free agent for 2024 and scored a huge deal with 23XI racing. I go over that move as well as Ty Dillons future in the sport on this episode of 3 Wide.

3 Wide - Not Quite a Contender.....Yet
play

08/16/22 • 20 min

Kevin Harvick went from winless for 65 races to now a 60-race winner as he scored back-to-back wins Sunday. Many people are saying he is now a championship contender, but I give my take on why I wouldn't buy into that just yet. The two Christophers put on a show at the end of the race with both looking like they could've been in victory lane, is Bell finally heating up just when he needs to? And Buescher now has some momentum as we go into 2 of his best tracks. Chandler Smith won the truck race Saturday night and locked himself into the next round while Hocevar causes some late race drama again as he mixes it up with a non-playoff driver. I discuss why Hocevar needs to focus on his race instead of others now that he is 3 points below the cutline with 1 race in the round left. We take a look at Watkins Glen and if this is Truex's last shot at a playoff spot, can Sheldon Creed get the upset Saturday or is Gibbs and Allmendinger going to lead the way again? The Coca-Cola 600 is back and better than ever! We had 3 straight days of great racing and it is all covered here. We discuss everything from Carson Hocevar coming so close to that 1st win, JR Motorsports continuing their domination of the Xfinity series, and Sundays wild 600 mile race. Sundays race was the longest in NASCAR history and I still wanted more. With how great the racing was at Charlotte I go over what that should mean for the All Star Race and Texas Motor Speedway. We also go over the comments by both Ryan Preece and Carson Hocevar after the two wrecked at the end of the truck race. We also look ahead at the upcoming weekends races as 2 of the 3 series head to new tracks. So much is covered on 3 Wide you don’t want to miss a second of it!
