Podcast Q&A

Why did you start this show?

We came up with the podcast at the end of 2022 when we both had an awful year. We wanted to create a positive space where people can come and hang out and learn how to do our best for people and the planet. So the sustainable support group was born. The podcast was largely inspired by the endless voice notes we sent each other ranting about the wasteful practices we observe or we ourselves were guilty of every day...and how we couldn't find eco-friendly toothpaste that didn't taste like death.

What do you hope listeners gain from listening to your show?

An understanding of the main drivers of climate change without getting too technical about the details. Becoming part of the sustainable support group a fun judgement-free community. Our aim is to educate through conversations and observation.

Which episode should someone start with?

Whichever peaks your interest. We cover a wide range of topics from fashion, recycling to periods.

Which have been your favourite episodes so far?

All of them. But our first one "Got Oat Milk" is definitely a highlight because the podcast finally went from conception to completion.

Which episode are you most proud of?

Proud of the whole podcast. Considering we have no idea what we are doing.

What is your vision for your show?

To build a sustainable support group.

What is your favourite other podcast that isn't yours?

So many favourites. " it's probably not aliens" is such a fun podcast and its formatting heavily inspired ours. We take a lot of inspiration from the Guilty feminists because we are guilty environmentalists and Deborah Frances White is just hilarious.

How did you come up with the name for your podcast?

Well this is Awkard

Tell us a bit about yourself

Hello everyone welcomes to 2 Girls 1 reusable Cup your sustainable support group. Where we navigate the woes & wonders of living a low-waist lifestyle in your 20s. The podcast is hosted by sustainable fashion designer/blogger Marie Sztana and Marketing creative Beth Freer. We met at University when they were new to adulting and a bit of a disaster zone (still are, to be honest) In 2022 after a terrible year, we decided to start a podcast based on the endless voice notes we sent each other.
