Charisma Check is a Dungeons and Dragons 5e actual play podcast that follows six improv theatre friends trying our best to deliver a truly narrative-driven D&D podcast experience. With a focus on dramatic collaborative storytelling, the Charisma Check Podcast takes place in the Forgotten Realms setting of Faerun that, while story-oriented, is fun, big-hearted and explores the dynamics of adventure, companionship, death-defying odds and sacrifice.

Season 1, Episode 4 – Faerun's Brightest Star
Our friends and newly anointed “Hand of the Harp” are quickly wrested from home after their brief return. If there’s one thing that can pull the bardling, Chyna Bigly, away it’s the promise of a bigger, better party, especially one that promises fortune and fame. Some of the biggest names in Toril are headed to the Talespinners Jamboree near the mercenary town of Yulash to the east, and Chyna isn’t about to throw away her shot.
But all is not jovial and swell in Hillsfar, for Torin Nomerthal is still broiling from the fact that the companions were able to pluck his prized Shadovar prisoners from under his big nose. He’s not likely to leave the offenders unharrassed for long. While our champions make their way through the Cormanthor forest and on towards Yulash, amidst the woods now thick with Red Plume patrols and scouts carrying Lord Nomerthal’s orders to bring them to his twisted justice, all are yet unaware that a far greater threat is in its infancy in the deep recesses of the forgotten Hillsfar Sewers.
What lies in wait at the dark convergence of our bard’s love of the spotlight and her haunted history of deep loss.

Season 1, Episode 3 – Hand of the Harp
The newly dubbed Hand of the Harp finds little time to bask in the reception prepared for them in their new home of Elventree, as Chyna sets her sights, intently, on the Search for Faerun's Brightest Star - a contest of performing arts, whimsy and extravaganza near the neighbouring mercenary town of Yulash.
The corrupt ruler of Hillsfar, Torin Nomerthal, doesn't seem keen on forgetting their affront, however, and has his own intentions; to hunt down the gang that unceremoniously ripped his prisoners away - a slap in the face to his rule and a patronization of his authority. What excitement awaits the champions in the brilliant festival of the arts? Will Chyna catch her big break before her dark past catches her? Tune in to find out!

Season 1, Episode 5 – Good Morning, Littleknight
As the Search for Faerun’s Brightest star launched into full swing, the celebrity panel of judges, including the frigid, notorious Simeon Caldwell we’re blown away by Chyna’s performance and original single. A victory that was short-lived.
An elaborate trap, presumably sprung by the underworld denizens that had previously tracked and attempted to abduct our young bard, wracked the surface world. Promptly ending the jovial festival as the earth itself opened to swallow whole the field where families, merchants, civilians and, of course, our adventurers collected.
The cataclysm at the Talespinner’s Jamboree has left the world above devastated, while our companions number amongst the few survivors below. As the Hand of the Heart desperately tried to secure and count those still living, Chyna was nowhere to be found.
