Today on the show we are joined by Steph Lowe, founder of The Natural Nutritionist. As she lead the way in the JERF – Just Eat Real Food movement, she is now leading the way in helping women create balanced hormones naturally.

With Intermittent Fasting continuing to grow in popularity, Steph brings curiosity to the topic of fasting for both women and men.

She helps us understand what fasting actually is as well as the differences between men and women when it comes to fasting. Steph shares important factors to consider when it comes to incorporating regular fasting into your routine and provides foundational principles to help guide those starting a fasting journey.

Male or Female. There is no one size fits all approach. If Intermittent Fasting is something you are wanting to explore further, we recommend listening to this episode and seeking the help and guidance from your healthcare practitioner. An episode to be shared, whether you are fasting or not!

You can hear more from Steph on her podcast, Health Happiness and Human Kindness. You can find out more about Steph at The Natural Nutritionist or follow The Natural Nutritionist on Instagram.

Part 2 of Dr Damian Kristof’s recent presentation at our 100 Not Out Longevity Evening focuses on breaking the rules that we often get indoctrinated with.

From honey and seed oils, to animal protein and vegan diets, Damo takes you in to the longevity hotspots of Ikaria and Sardinia to explore what they eat, why they eat it, how they prepare it and so much more.

If you love all of this and want to experience the real thing with us in 2024, you’re invited to join us in Ikaria and Sardinia (pick one or both) for our 2024 100 Not Out Longevity Experience.

Damo’s not happy at the way the Nicoyan diet has been portrayed in Live to 100 – Secrets of the Blue Zones.

“Let’s start off by saying they’re probably not using the Monsanto corn,” Damo begins.

The way they produce and process their beans and corn is very different to the way we do it in the more modern world. And not only that, Damo’s angry that it’s been made so easy to replicate the diet local to the Nicoyans. All of this and more on part 4 of our review of Live to 100 – Secrets of the Blue Zones (which we really are big fans of on an overall basis). Ikaria 2024 and Sardinia 2024 are now open to enrolments If you’d like to join us in one or both of the European Blue Zones in 2024, you can now officially express your interest. Ikaria is August 22-31 and Sardinia September 1-10. Come to one, come to both. Just remember, group sizes are strictly limited and may be full by the time you see this. In Ikaria they experience 80% less dementia than the rest of the world. Not to mention 50% less heart disease and 20% less cancer. But today we look into dementia, as shared by Marcus in a recent 100 Not Out Longevity Evening. This recording from the event discusses some of the hidden clues that our lifestyle gives us – namely cholesterol and blood pressure, which are for many people precursors to dementia. We got a lot of questions and feedback from our recent workshop, Blue Zones, Diets & Biohacks. One question in particular focused on how likely it is or isn’t to live like people in the Blue Zones.

On this episode we answer this question and many more, including Blue Zones and their diets, the role of genes in longevity and much more.

Wondering what workshop we are talking about? You can listen to our live recording of Blue Zones, Diets & Biohacks on episode 582 here. Alternatively, you can watch the recording of our workshop here.

Here at 100 Not Out we love feedback! If the workshop raised some feedback or questions of your own, please send us a message via our Facebook page, Instragam or via 100notout.com

Every year we talk about the changing face of winning on Christmas Day! Whether your hosting or guest, spending time with loved ones or ones that rub you up the wrong way ... what is always on the menu is ... food!

The first question that gets asked these days around food is dietaries! And on this Christmassy edition of 100 Not Out, Damo and MP discuss how to win on Christmas Day no matter if you're dealing with FODMAPS, vegetarian or vegan, gluten-free, dairy free, and so on.

Merry Christmas!

Damo has started the New Year with a BANG! Or more to the point, a “Pull Over” and “Stop Right There”!

No, Damo is not at Police Academy, but I did perform a quasi “citizens arrest” over Summer after watching an incident at his local golf club.

The story is entertaining and the lesson is powerful.

If we are to build stronger communities around us, we must hold each other to account.

The behaviour we walk past is the behaviour we accept.

So enjoy the story, and consider the lesson!

*** Ikaria & Sardinia 2024 is coming! ***

We are in the final weeks of finalising our groups for our Longevity Experiences to Ikaria and Sardinia. Apply to join us in one or both locations. All the details are at www.100notout.com

In a recent article, the oldest woman on the planet, María Branyas Morera, 115, said that the key to longevity is to stay away from toxic people.

We know that the quality of relationships can have a large impact on the quality of our health but why do we often find ourselves in toxic situations, unable to step away? Do we get stuck because we can’t see a pathway out?

Regardless if the toxic relationship is with others, food, money, or family; the biggest question we have to ask ourselves is, is what we are putting up with worthy of what we want in our lives?

This episode discusses toxic relationships at length and acknowledges that often people don’t have the support in their lives to help them exit such a relationship. If this episode has triggered you, please have the courage to care about yourself enough to find your way out of the toxic situation. Organizations such as Rize Up, dedicated to supporting the many families affected by domestic and family violence, are able to help up.

In this episode we refer to a previous episode of 100 Not Out with Mario Martinez and his conversation around righteous anger. You can refer to episode 181 here.
