After leaving an abusive relationship, the next important step to begin healing is for the victim to break their silence. Once the victim begins to share their story and talk about their experience, whether with friends and family or with a professional, they will begin to feel stronger and empowered. In this episode, Break the Silence Against Domestic Violence, Lupe Moreno and her guest discuss the importance of breaking the silence and share how breaking their own silence has helped them. Lupe's guest is Ms. Samantha McCoy, a domestic violence and rape survivor. Ms. McCoy is also an advocate, speaker, and licensed mental health therapist.

Today, more than at any point in recent history, America is embroiled in racial strife and animosity. There continues to be racial profiling of blacks, Latinos, and Muslims. There is a steady increase of hate crimes. The membership in hate groups like White Supremacists and White Nationalists continues to grow. And unarmed black males continue to be shot and killed by police officers. So, as we take a look back on tonight's program over the past 50 plus years since the March On Washington in 1963, we will consider how much closer we are to Dr. King's Dream that men, women, and children will not be " judged by the color of their skin, but rather the content of their character." Our special guest for this program is author, blogger, and public speaker, Ms. Maura Sweeney. Ms. Sweeney has been featured on hundreds of radio shows and podcasts as well as NBC, BBC, and European TV. Ms. Sweeney chooses to focus on "unity" rather than "division." Her philosophy is, "Living Happy - Inside Out." She was originally called Ambassador of Happiness by the UNESCO Center for Peace when invited to speak at the inaugural Nelson Mandela Day celebrations. Ms. Sweeney states, "With what we often hear talked about in our news media and culture today, and the manner in which it's all framed, it's no wonder our society feels so dis-spirited. Yet my experience in the 'real world' has revealed much of the opposite." Join us as Ms. Sweeney shares with us her vision, and how it relates to good news even in today's racially divided America

One of the more important causes that The CWR Network supports is the fight against domestic violence against women. In this week's program we are delighted to have two former guest return, Ms. Julie Owens and Mr. Barry Goldstein, both of whom are ardent advocates for victims of domestic violence. This program is a powerful expose with revelations from a new study that reveals how many family and civil courts charged with the duty to make formal judgments or decisions about child custody, that there is gender inequality in our legal system, and that men’s violence in the family is often rendered invisible by family court practices. During this hour, we will also hear from a survivor of domestic violence sharing her experience, and how the courts responded in a manner similar to what is described in the new study about gender inequality in the legal system, and the impact those actions had on her and her children.

Lupe's guest is Santina Proctor. Santina is an advocate, motivational speaker, child survivor of domestic violence, and founder of It’s Not Your Fault 91, Inc. For the first seven years of her life, Santina witnessed her mother endure every form of domestic violence. Santina’s mother lost her life when she was 30 years old, after taking pills given to her by her abuser. Witnessing domestic violence impacted Santina’s life tremendously, and she was diagnosed with PTSD earlier this year. Santina created It’s Not Your Fault 91, Inc., in 2014, in honor of her mother, Sandra Hocker. It’s Not Your Fault 91is an organization from a child’s perspective. The purpose of the organization is to get rid of the mentality that what happens at home stays at home and to let women/men know there is help and they are not alone. Santina also creates documentaries that give different perspectives of domestic violence to show that DV can and does happen to anyone.

Tune in to The JOURNEY as Allen R. Randle Sr., Pastor of Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church continues the discussion on That’s Why I Don’t Go to Church: When the Village Fails - Part 1. He has a message for the pastor and the pew, tackling taboo issues, addressing and bringing to light what’s often encouraged to remain in the dark. The wounded may find themselves questioning God, His existence and wondering why He allows bad things to happen in His church, because of a pastor’s misguidance, failing to provide wise counsel and overstepping sacred oaths and boundaries. We must move beyond the deep wounds, scars and cover-ups that cause Christians to refuse to attend any church! This segment aims to help pastors heal and bring healing and wellness to the pew, to help the unchurched kindle or rekindle their relationship with God so they can fulfill their purpose and reach their destiny.

When the village fails, you may witness the “called by God” taking “I can do all things” to an unimaginable level - leading congregations by manipulating, imposing their narcissistic personalities, violating, molesting, abusing, using witchcraft, practicing mind control, invoking fear, preying on the naive and innocent and engaging in deception. What’s even worse is parishioners who sit quietly in pews and turn a blind eye! These individuals could be lurking in your church, in your pulpit, in your pews and preying on your daughters, sons, nieces, nephews, wives and husbands! It’s time to fear not! See something, say something! If you can’t speak up in the church and stop the cycle of abuse, especially when the pastor is the perpetrator, then where can you turn? Churches must truly practice what they preach and preach what they practice - the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth! Our special guest will bravely speak her truth to increase awareness. Ms. Keyana Ri’chards shares the molestation that she endured at the hands of her pastor for 10 years, while members knowingly sat quietly in pews, including the "First Lady." May her truth help promote change and healing, encourage pastors to step up or sit down and heal their own wounds so they can stop wounding others. An accountable pew that holds its leaders accountable is essential to prevention. It’s time for no more excuses, no more abuse and no to failing the village to live healthily after The JOURNEY!
