Ariise - Invasion Day aka Australia Day
The Deep acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work and live, and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community. We pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.I grew up being taught to sing the Australian anthem with pride. To celebrate Australia Day with a bbq and drinks! But only in the past few years have I understood what Australia Day aka Invasion Day really means for our First Nations people. I’m confused how we can ignore how painful this day is for so many. I’m disappointed at how little people know or care. So I needed to dedicate an episode to this day with a brilliant woman by the name of AJ, who is passionate about deconstructing Australia Day.You can follow AJ on Instagram @8983aj and join her course by visiting aliciajohnson.podia.com.Credits:Please DM us your thoughts and burning questions to @whatsthedeep or head to zoemarshall.com/thedeep.The Deep is a place for you. Ariise - Favs From The Archives: From Housewife To Millionaire

Let's talk about empowerment. Finding the audacity to be the best version of yourself, the sacrifices you might make and if it's worth it. Lisa Bilyeu is the perfect example of this. She has turned so much of her life on its head - her business, her marriage, her family. I hope you find this one really inspirational.

Ariise - Post-Partum and Psychology with Tania Trapolini
The fourth trimester? What is it? What does that even mean? We've done the hard yards with the pregnancy and the birth, can't we just focus on the baby now?! In this series we share conversations with leading experts that cover every angle of the fourth trimester and why taking care of the mother is so vital during this season of motherhood.

Today's expert is Dr Tania Trapolini, a Peri-Natal Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about supporting individuals and their families navigating their unique journeys into parenthood, from trying to conceive, pregnancy, birth and beyond. She has always combined her clinical work with a strong research foundation, and her PhD and research has predominantly been in the area of maternal depression and anxiety. I thought it was crucial to talk to Tania - because as much as its a physical shift - the impact on the family dynamic and the mother mentally is something we need to address.

This episode mentions post-natal depression, support services are listed below.

Ariise - The Parents Transition
Parenthood is hard. Of course there are great parts, rewarding, exciting, loving parts. But a lot of it is terrifying and confronting. What if you knew your child was heavily depressed and was giving suicidal hints? What if you found out the reason for that was because they were incredibly unhappy with the gender they were assigned at birth? What if on the edge of puberty you found out it was no longer possible for them to pretend any longer. They wanted to be the opposite sex. They wanted to transition.Content warning: this episode addresses childhood mental illness and suicide. For help, children can contact Kids helpline on 1800 55 1800. Adults can contact Lifeline on 13 11 14.Read more in Lyndsay's book What Would Love Do?Credits:Please DM us your thoughts and burning questions to @whatsthedeep or head to zoemarshall.com/thedeep.The Deep is a place for you.
