Peace Tribe Rising is all about empowering the peacemakers and people who are committed to living together in peace. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict can be viewed as a battle between two tribes with competing religious, national, and historical narratives and identities. We are empowering a new, shared identity: the Peace Tribe. Together, we are unfolding a future of reconciliation, peace and human rights for all the people of the holy land. We come from a wide range of backgrounds: Israelis and Palestinians, Jews, Muslims and Christians, and supporters of all stripes, colors and creeds, in the Middle East, the United States, and around the world. PTR is a project of the Middle East Peace Civic Forum, a 501c3 nonprofit organization. www.mepcf.org

For most of its history Christianity has promised blessings for its adherents and curses for those who doubt.
Now, for the first time in the Church's long reign, questions about the major claims of Christianity are overwhelming the "gospel".
Is Christianity losing the battle for men's minds? Yes. Is this a tragedy? No. It appears to be the Plan, becoming more clear every day. "It is near" examines the evidence.
Most Christian podcasts seem breathless in their self-defense of "the faith".
Gotta prove that God exists. Gotta set the record straight. Gotta battle atheism.
Gotta defend the Bible. Gotta warn people of future wrath.
"It is near" takes a different approach. First of all, the wrath if almost over. We're living through the "day of his wrath" right now. Just beyond the trouble -- which is aimed at human institutions, especially Christendom, is peace and tranquility that no one dares to hope for. "Even the bad news is good news." Yes, the Bible is true, but events will make that clear soon enough. Yes, there are good reasons to believe there is a God behind all of creation. But he is a much better God than the Church has ever taught its adherents, or explained to the world outside. Much more gracious. With a solution for every human problem, and a refusal to justify the sins of the Church herself.
The notion of human history that begins in disgrace, is haunted by tragedy, and ends in failure for the masses of mankind, is too outrageous to accept. Time for new messages: for the Christian, we say "Turn away from 'turn or burn.''" For the skeptics, we say, "The half was never told you. Of course there was a screw loose in the Christian "gospel" you heard. Of course the Church burned you and blamed you for leaving a dysfunctional human system. Of course a good God would end human injustice, cure cancer, protect the planet, and bring people together. And that's exactly what he's about to do."
The unbelievers' problem has never been with Jesus. He's always been likable enough. It's his Church that stumbles people and makes them look for a non-theocratic explanation of our origins.
Is it possible that Christians -- those who carry the burden of orthodoxy -- have gotten it partly wrong? Is it possible the Bible's depictions of God and his plans have been misunderstood? Is it possible there is significant "good news" that has been ignored?
The incredible claim of this podcast is that, in the face of ages of creed wars stacked against us, "when the Bible is more carefully examined, its message is a thousand times more comforting and more sensible than anyone imagined." Our mission is to prove this thesis to be true for non-Christians taught to believe they are responsible for the failures of our "Christian" world; and it is true for sincere Christians who worry about the myriads of people they have been taught will burn in hell -- including, often, their own closest loved ones.
Could it be that the geopolitical institution we call The Church is itself scheduled for self-destruction? Could it be her followers have been commanded to leave? That Reformation has already been tried and will no longer work?
Who are the words "Come out of Her, my people" addressed to? Who is commanded to "Avoid her sins. Escape her judgment"? See Revelation 18.
If you are interested in evidence that God sees, understands, and has good reasons for allowing crazyness to happen in the world he sent his Son to rescue, tune in.
You may be pleasantly surprised.

Dear listeners,
I wanted to let you know that I am taking a break from my podcast. There are a few reasons for this decision.
First and foremost, I want to focus on living out what I have learned from the Bible, rather than just imparting head knowledge to others. I have come to realize that in recent years, I have become a bit of a "Christian Thought Police," believing that everyone would benefit from the wealth of knowledge I possess. But the truth is, I want to focus more on trusting in God and less on making sure I have the "correct" beliefs. I want to learn what it means to truly live out my faith and follow Jesus.
In addition, I have not been part of a church since late 2021 and have no plans to return to any church organization in the future. I have come to view churches as being similar to Ted Talks, where we are filled with information but asked to give money 20 times during the lecture. To me, churches seem more like businesses that train people to be "thought police" for everyone around the world.
Over the past year, I have related more to the stories of Job and Ecclesiastes than anyone else, not because of suffering, but because of the critical thinking that is present in these books. I am convinced that the primary message of Job is not "why bad things happen to good people," but rather that God wants us to think critically and he has no problem with us questioning him or this world we live in. I used to see myself as being like Job, but I have come to realize that I have been no different than his friends, who were just so wrong about God.
For these reasons, and because of some personal life lessons that have completely altered my thinking about God and my conception of church, I am taking a break from my podcast. I may return at some point in the future, but for now, my podcast will be an audio journey of my faith through most of 2021.
Thank you for your understanding and for being a part of this journey with me.
Sincerely,
Zechariah Montera

ABOUT ME and THIS PODCAST: I am Avinoam ("Avi") ben Mordechai. I am an old veteran of the radio broadcast industry. For me, radio programming was very different when I started in the early 1970s as a California "rock jock" radio personality and later in the 1980s as a Colorado radio programmer and secular and religious content talk show host. I selectively do live on-air radio programming where I find opportunity, but ultimately, whatever I pursue with my years of radio broadcast training is not formal. I seek to serve Yehovah with the gifts and talents that He has given to me.
Today, I am passionate about teaching the Bible in an understandable way to modern readers of ancient Scripture. The biblical studies I engage in through my teaching monologues and, in some cases, interviews with knowledgable academic researchers, are, at the very core, Hebraic studies, as I seek to connect the dots, so to speak, between the biblical Hebrew Bible and the Brit Hadasha (the New Covenant or "New Testament").
I aim to help Yehovah's students better understand His Word. I try hard to provide the Almighty Eternal One's students with the tools necessary to become thinking and reasoning followers in the Messianic claims and teachings of Yeshua from the Second Temple period of Israel's Judaism. I strive to provide a safe, nurturing, non-judgmental, and advanced learning environment where students of biblical Scripture can learn, grow, and develop in their knowledge of the Word of Yeshua HaMashiach (the promised Messiah for Jews and non-Jews alike) through a personal relationship with Yehovah, the Almighty Eternal One of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Each posted podcast has a running time of 50 minutes divided into two 25-minute program segments. You may freely listen to and download them at your convenience. My strict policy is never to monetize them, meaning to turn them into opportunities for moneymaking or to accept advertisers. I do not ask any of my listeners to donate money to this program. If you are moved to give to this outreach ministry, this is between you and your great Father in Heaven.
Go in spiritual and emotional health.
Avinoam ben Mordechai
