The name “This Golden Hour” has meaning. First, this name refers to the years parents have to raise and teach their children from birth to when they leave home to be on their own. As parents, we have a golden opportunity to teach and learn alongside our children during these formative and essential years of growth and development. Second, “This Golden Hour” points to this same period of childhood as the children’s chance to read, explore nature, and enjoy an inspiring atmosphere of family, love, and learning.

Please join me in embarking on the Harvard Classics Series by Dr. Charles Elliot. This series dates back to around 1910 and is a collection of literature that I believe needs to be revived and rediscovered. I look forward to reading and discussing all 50 volumes with you as we learn about the great ideas of those who came before us. In this series, we will dive into Greek and Roman history, the American Founders, works from Francis Bacon, John Milton, and many more. We will cover Shakespeare and Chaucer and also some fictional works like Don Quixote which are all included in the Harvard Classics.
We will also review other books on this podcast that fit the classical education theme.
This series is being created for those passionate about classical education and as a supplement to homeschool curriculums. I truly hope these classical works of literature bring you as much joy as they do me.
Feel free to reach out with any questions as I would love to hear from you!
Rob Pirie

Grace and Grit is the podcast where faith meets family, business, and the beautiful chaos in between. Hosted by husband-and-wife duo Kyle and Renee Baylis—entrepreneurs, parents of four, and unapologetically real—this weekly show dives into what it really takes to build a strong marriage, raise a blended family, run businesses together, and still show up for each other (and for God).
Expect unfiltered conversations, relatable moments, and honest insight—whether it's tackling tough client calls, navigating parenting fails, or laughing through life's messiest moments. Some episodes feature local business owners and inspiring guests; others are just the two of us, sharing wisdom we’ve learned the hard (and holy) way.
If you're a Christian couple juggling life, leadership, and love—or just someone who appreciates real talk with real people—you’ll feel right at home here.
🎙️ New episodes every week.
📍 Recorded in Southern NH.
💬 Let’s grow, laugh, and keep the grit—together.
