Heart and Hope.

Science and Shenanigans.

Are you an Animal Lover? Then The Story of My Pet Podcast is for you!

Come along as Pet Parents from around the world tell the stories of their believed pets, from rescue dogs to foster kittens, street cats to wild horses, and everywhere in between. This show shares heart-to-heart conversations about animals collected from amazing pet parents, animal supporters and rescue advocates. Learn about animal adoption, fostering, rescue, and volunteerism. Along with powerful discussions about animal welfare topics, you will learn how to get involved in your local community and help animals in need.

The bond between humans and animals is immeasurable. That bond makes pet parents like you the best animal advocates. Whether you rescued your precious pet or found them a local animal shelter, the journey to your fur babies is often unexpected, but you always find the pets you are meant to have. Who rescued who, right? Whether you have human kids or not, pets are your chosen kids. You love them as members of your family and will do anything for them.

This show advocates and educates to ensure more people know about the importance of animal rescue, fostering, and adoption. Each episode features an animal rescue group, shelter, and/or nonprofit organization focused on saving animals in need. Get ready to be inspired by incredible animal rescuers, shelter workers, trappers, trainers, and volunteers. You may be surprised to learn about the reality of animal welfare and rescue in the world today. Turn that shock and disappointment in action! Whether it be volunteering at an animal shelter, becoming a pet foster parent, or adopting your next pet, the animal advocates on this show all share the same passion; To save as many animals as they can!

Sometimes the most difficult part of the story of our pets is the end. This podcast also shares difficult discussions about pet loss. While your bond lasts well beyond the physical lifespan of your pets, sharing stories about your pet’s passing can help with processing your grief and loss. Heartfelt discussions about assisting fur babies through illness and injury is never easy; but sharing stories can help other pet parents make informed decisions and improve the lives of other pets. Connecting with other each other through this show builds community and collaboration and will help you to be the best pet parent possible.

Your host, Julie Marty-Pearson, PsyD is a dedicated Fur Mom, lifelong animal lover, pet enthusiast, and all around animal advocate. She volunteers at her local county animal shelter, has been a kitten foster mom, and occasional pet sitter. Julie started this podcast to share the stories of her own pets, past and present, and advocate for animal rescue, fostering and adoption. Contact Julie via email if you are interested in being a guest on the podcast.

Julie is a Podcast Coach who is passionate about helping others share their stories through podcasting. She has her doctorate in Organizational Psychology and she supports others with starting their own podcasts just like she did with The Story of My Pet Podcast. Julie started her second podcast, Podcast Your Story Now, to share her experience as a podcaster, give tips and tricks for new and aspiring podcasters, and interview other female podcasters about their journeys.

This is an all animal podcast with an R rating for sex, cultural taboo, STDs, fish orgies, and an appropriate amount of cursing. Dr. Siperstein is a veterinarian and Melissa is a professional dog trainer - they have been working professionally with animals for over 30 years combined and have many stories that would get the Wild Kratts an FCC violation. Twice a month they will dive deep on a controversial subject in the animal world and wash it all down with a news story about animals that would make David Attenborough clutch some pearls. So, put the kids to bed, get a beverage of your choice, and listen to this animal podcast with an after-dark vibe. This is Totally Pawsome.

Pet Pulse is the news source for animal lovers, which takes an in-depth look at the issues facing the $43 billion a year industry of domestic pets. It's pet news, but it's no joke and not a lot of fluff. Our stories are comprehensive, engaging and thought provoking. They not only catch people's attention but give the viewer the knowledge to act if they want to make a difference. It's not just about reporting the issues as news, but about taking a closer look at the implications that the issue will have upon animals, pet owners and the industry at large. We are not activists or advocates. We are simply story tellers conveying the tales of animals. To that end, every story will have an element of reporting from the animal's perspective. Pet Pulse operates online, a medium that has changed the game of how news is received and delivered. Our viewers and readers are a dynamic component of our news organization. They provide instantaneous feedback on our stories and will not hesitate to point out when we have not answered the key questions. Ultimately, this pushes us to be better journalists. Getting the story right has never counted as much as it does here. Reporting for Pet Pulse brings an opportunity to sharpen investigative and enterprise news skills. We believe Pet Pulse is at the forefront of how news will be delivered in the future -- informative, relevant and targeted to an audience who truly cares.

Living with animals enriches our lives in so many ways, yet when they are confused or unwell, their behaviors become our concern. The truth is, in order to make themselves known, our animals express themselves through quirky, and sometimes undesired behaviors. When their communications fail to reach us they have to resort to demonstrative behaviors. When our animals “speak” to us we are given a choice: we can dismiss them as silly and goofy or we can choose to stop... and listen. By knowing how to listen to your pet, you will solve problems and be shown a world that is nothing short of miraculous. In this podcast, "Let's have a Chat," you will discover the secret to communicating with animals successfully. If your animal is your soul-mate, then listen in as Nicole Birkholzer, animal communication expert, author, and storyteller provides you with ideas to have a mindful and meaningful chat with your own animal to resolve quirky and undesired behaviors. This is a must-hear podcast for pet owners wanting access to the latest in pet quality of life and longevity. Whether your pet has fur, feathers, scales or shells, Cathy and Chris believe in treating your pet as a whole, both mind and body. Continuing a collaboration that began in 2003, Cathy and Chris share the gift of gab as well as their network in the pet rehab community. Using their vast expertise as Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioners (CCRPs), Cathy Symons CVT, CCRP, and Chris Cranston MPT, CCRP, offer relevant information and provocative interviews on their podcast, PetAbility. With an emphasis on mobility and independence, their show is about improving function, restoring confidence, alleviating fear, providing mental stimulation, and easing pain to help your pets live their best lives. Read on for more information about Cathy and Chris...

Cathy Symons is the author of Blind Devotion: Enhancing the Lives of Blind and Visually Impaired Dogs. She was inspired to write this book after her first pug, Booda, lost his sight at the age of seven. Several years later, Cathy adopted a blind pug named Digger and wrote a children’s book, Watching Out for Digger, which she uses as a teaching tool for young children to learn about living with a disabled dog.

After fifteen years of practice as a veterinary technician, Cathy went on to study canine rehabilitation at the University of Tennessee. In 2003, Cathy was one of the first thirty-six people in the world to become a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner. Shortly thereafter, Cathy was instrumental in establishing one of the foremost veterinary rehabilitation centers in the United States, the Sterling Impression Animal Rehabilitation Center of New England. She continues to follow the latest options in pet rehabilitation, including digital thermal imaging and laser therapy, and is currently working on her third book, Senior Dogs: Maintaining Mobility and Independence.

Cathy resides in the New England area with her husband and their pug, Mac. Mac is a very confident little nugget who enjoys doing nose work with his mom.

Chris Cranston has 20 years of experience in pet rehabilitation. She is excited to share her knowledge and reach a wide pet-loving audience through the PetAbility podcast. Chris loves seeing that light bulb go off when educating pet owners, so a podcast seemed like a natural fit.

Chris started her career as a physical therapist (PT) – with people. When she moved to the Boston area in 2002, she saw it as an opportunity to do something different, so she combined her existing PT skills with her passion for animals. Chris became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner through the University of Tennessee in 2004, one of the first 100 persons in the world to receive this certification. In addition to her CCRP designation, she has a Masters of Physical Therapy (1989) and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology (1987) from the University of Iowa.

Chris had a successful mobile practice, consulted with a myriad of general practices and specialty clinics, and started the physical rehabilitation service for a large multi-specialty and emergency organization in the Greater Boston region. All this was before founding FlowDog, a stand-alone, full-service small animal physical rehabilitation facility in Waltham, MA. In 2017, Chris sold her business to the esteemed Angell Animal Medical Center of Boston, and is now podcasting, consulting for a tech company in the veterinary space, providing concierge mobile pet rehab, and working getting a product to market that will help our pets. Of course, Chris prioritizes enriching the lives of her twin Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Julep & Baxter, while indulging in all the snuggles they are willing to share with her!
