For Our Special Kids is simply that...For Our Special Kids.
When you realize you have a magic child on your hands, you do everything you can for them. So...I started a podcast to honor and highlight the magic and the mess of raising a child with special needs.
What I have learned over the past 6 years is profound.
1. My child is WAY smarter than me.
2. She has opened me up to the incredible world of intuition, psychic abilities, mediumship, healing, telepathy, galactic travel, the angel realms, spirit guides, and a whole lot more.
3. If we can learn to let go of expectations, the universe will blow your mind.
4. I wouldn't want to spend another day of my existence without her in my life.
5. I am a better person because she chose me as her mom.
So...while I originally intended to focus on providing tools and therapies and amazing stuff for parents/caregivers with a child with special needs...this has really morphed into a podcast for parents that are curious about new and innovative ways to better connect with their child. How can you use CranioSacral Therapy to be a better parent? How might crystals help soothe the energy within your home? How can your child's birth chart help you become a better home schooling parent? What is the best way to maneuver an IEP while celebrating the differences your magic child brings to the school?
So, thanks for joining me...it's gonna be a fun ride and I promise we'll make mistakes along the way. But hell...that's parenting for ya!!!
Smooches,Jen

Think of this podcast as your very own special needs mom support group--except it's helpful and fun! You will leave with the hope that you can have a super happy life even when your life includes parenting a medically complex child or a child with something like autism and ADHD.You likely didn't ask to be the parent of a disabled child or to live portions of your life in the hospital NICU or PICU. Your story is unique; it’s hard to find a place where you belong or where you don't feel so isolated and alone. Your child might have a rare disease, be undiagnosed or experience something that almost everybody has heard of like Downs syndrome yet the weird thing is that whether your child has an intellectual disability or physical disability, the experience as a mother is so similar. So regardless of your child’s disability, we can all find a home in this community. You find yourself managing everybody else's needs; your child, their siblings, and all the guilt that you have about that. All this has you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and dizzy---not knowing who to turn to or what to do next for help. This podcast is your lifeline, you’ll find encouragement and inspiration as we connect to other moms’ journeys. We’ll get practical and look at what it takes to stop feeling so stuck in your life. You know this podcast is for you if you find yourself googling:Overwhelmed special needs mom helpHow to do self care as a special needs mom?Dealing with anger as a special needs momHow to manage special needs mom burnout and stress? How do I deal with mom's guilt?Help for myself as a special needs momHow do I cope with a disabled child? How do I manage the grief of my medically complex child? How to keep from drowning as a caregiverSupport group for special needs mom or community for caregiversI'm tired of taking care of my special needs childFinding balance between my child’s needs and my own mamas needsRespite and rest for special needs moms

Hidden Diagnoses Impact is a podcast that shares stories about medical conditions that often have unknown etiology or causes are idiopathic. It empowers global health advocates and undiagnosed patients by telling their stories, educating the broader public, and discussing the lack of healthcare with health professionals who are rare/undiagnosed patient advocates and allies.
The podcast serves as a beacon of hope and knowledge for individuals navigating the complexities of the often misunderstood realm of hidden or 'occult' medical conditions, such as Occult Tethered Cord and Cervical Cranial Instability (CCI) within the Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), and beyond.
Each episode invites listeners into the lives of those who face the daily challenges of seeking accurate diagnoses, battling misperceptions, and often receiving inadequate treatment.
The heart of "Occult Awareness" lies in its compelling storytelling, as guests share their personal journeys, from the trials of living with undiagnosed symptoms to the triumphs of finding understanding and proper care. Alongside these powerful narratives, the podcast brings expert voices from the medical community to discuss the subtleties of occult conditions, current research, and emerging treatments.
By fostering a community of empathy and advocacy, "Occult Awareness" empowers those affected by these conditions and educates the broader public, healthcare providers, and policymakers about the critical need for awareness and the nuances of medical care for occult disabilities. Each episode aims to educate, inspire, and advocate for change, contributing to a more informed and compassionate society.

How important is oral history in understanding the life of people with learning disabilities? This audio, recorded in July 2009 at the Social History of Learning Disability Conference at The Open University, features people with learning disabilities sharing their experiences first-hand with historians and social researchers on equal terms. The significance of capturing real-life stories through oral history is described by one academic contributor as a way of showing people ‘not as victims but as survivors’, while for another it ‘opens your eyes to corners of social life’. Finding calm in the chaos, magic in the mess and strength in the struggle. We are Chris and Scott. Two imperfect people who have been through the parenting gamut. Like you, we've struggled. A lot. We've dealt with the issues of adoption and attachment challenges, special needs parenting, health issues, disability, trauma, loss and heartache. But we've held on for the ride and we're still here. Has it been hard? You bet. Has it been worth it? Hell yes. Advanced clinical degrees in social work, counseling and school psychology helped equip us for this journey, but it didn't protect us from the hardship. Everything shared here has come as a result of rising from the ashes. From holding on to hope. From being present and learning to listen....to our children, one another and the stirrings of our hearts. If you're a struggling parent, you're welcome here. If you've ever wanted to give up (but were afraid to admit it) you're welcome here. A seismic shift has taken place in the world of work. Workplace culture continues to adapt and respond – as it always has done – to the wider world. Covid turned our working lives upside down; Black Lives Matter and the #MeToo movement challenged and changed our expectations of what a responsible and inclusive business looks and feels like. Society, culture and work now overlap in ways we have not seen before. The reWorked podcast provides a space to explore how business can respond to this complex, and sometimes contested, landscape. We speak to leading thinkers and doers about their ideas for what an inclusive workplace looks like in 2023. Listen below and on all your usual podcast platforms.
