The Ethics Age podcast is a production of the Irish Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice, which deals with the ethical complexities of living in a prosperous but profoundly unequal society. The first four episodes are an accompaniment to the book 'Theological Ethics in a Neoliberal Age' by the social theologian of the centre, Kevin Hargaden. Each episode unpacks a theme in the book, which tackles the challenges that Christians face living in a time of neoliberalism, the political and economic doctrine that aims to maximise profit for a few at the expense of the many.

So, here I am--starting this podcast! I'm so excited to start this journey and celebrate the amazing entrepreneurs in our community.

On each episode of FWBP, I chat with entrepreneurs from a wide range of industries to get their take on achieving success. We talk about their stories, strategies and lessons learned along the way. We'll have inspiring stories from entrepreneurs who are succeeding despite the odds, get tips on how to stay motivated and productive, and uncover hidden gems of knowledge that we can all learn from. Plus, we'll also dive into sales strategies, marketing tactics, and financial planning. Of course, it's not all smooth sailing - so we also talk about the challenges faced when launching a business and how to overcome them.

We also have a segment called "Friends with benefits" where listeners will receive an exclusive deal or discount from a featured business.

Together, we'll explore what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur in today's landscape, learn from each other's experiences and successes, and have some fun along the way. So, stay tuned and join me on this adventure!

When you switch on a light or turn the heating on in your home, do you think about where that power has come from? In most of the world, we’re still burning harmful fossil fuels to create energy. However, throughout Europe a growing number of householders have decided to put the environment first, by switching to a “green tariff” with energy suppliers who can guarantee renewable, fossil fuel-free energy. This album explores the various ways in which innovative technologies - such as wind-farms, heat exchangers, photovoltaic panels and combined heat and power plants - provide the opportunity to revolutionise energy markets and turn whole communities and districts green. One town in Holland is a good example of a “suburban energy island”, where the solar-panelled buildings act as energy providers back to the main grid when they generate extra to spare. Altogether the tracks in the album inspire a new way of looking at designing modern living using a mix of technologies to ensure a socially, economically and environmentally sustainable future. You can find out more about innovation in design by exploring the albums "Design and Sustainability" and "Sustainable Communities". This material is taken from The Open University course T307 Innovation: designing for a sustainable future.

Politics is one of the only practical disciplines where none of the main concepts have clear, coherent definitions. We define ourselves with terms like "left” and "right" and we believe in things like "democracy," “markets,” "capitalism" and "socialism" even though we don’t really know what any of these words actually mean. This series aims to make sense out of the political muddle that we've inherited from media, academia, and from decades of cold war propaganda, so that we can figure what it is that we want when it comes to politics, and how we can achieve it.

Going for Broke is a co-production of the Economic Hardship Reporting Project and PRX’s "To The Best of Our Knowledge" at Wisconsin Public Radio. The three-part series hosted by broadcaster Ray Suarez centers on Americans who have lived on the edge. They share their sometimes startling economic experiences and also insight into our society as a whole. Each hour also includes some of our country’s top thinkers on income inequality, among them the legendary writer Barbara Ehrenreich, author of the classic “Nickel and Dimed,” who passed away in September 2022. In each episode we ask: what would result if we put more care into how we dealt with housing or mental health crises or our workplaces? Going for Broke explores these questions, moving from powerful personal accounts to visionary solutions.
