The best podcasts for menopause and positive ageing

Who am I?

As a practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine and a menopause educator, I have spent my life exploring the intersection of holistic and spiritual ways of living. Although I began my career as a scientist, I was always drawn to TCM and trained in Tui Na massage, in my thirties. Despite my passion for this work, I lacked the courage to leave the corporate world until perimenopause gave me the final push to follow my soul's calling. Today, I help women cultivate the art of change and prepare to step into their Second Spring by working at the intersection of Qigong, TCM Nutritional Therapy, and Yang Sheng, which means to nurture life. I am a member of MenoClarity a group of passionate women around the world who are championing menopause without the hype. At 63, my motto is "Come on over, it's glorious on this side." I had no support from Western medical practitioners going through perimenopause, and I had no understanding of perimenopause or menopause beyond a cessation of menses. I had a difficult perimenopause with anxiety, sleep issues and weight gain. Eventually, I found symptom relief through acupuncture, qigong and a major shift in my lifestyle around diet, alcohol and rest. When I quit corporate, I taught mindfulness for stress and pain management but observed that all my clients were women of a certain age and that there was a pattern often rooted in over busyness, overgiving, inconsistent positive habits and underlying unresolved trauma. I have studied for over 12 years to deepen my understanding of this life transition from both a Western and Eastern perspective so that I could be of greater service to women through its transition.
