Podcaster Q&A
Tell us about yourself – what is your background?
I’m Rob Law, a designer, entrepreneur and dad of three. I’m best known for inventing the Trunki ride-on suitcase, which has helped millions of families travel with less stress and more fun. After 20 years in consumer products, I launched Zeepy to support children's emotional wellbeing and sleep routines through science-backed tools including our Zeepy Sleep Trainer Clock and now, the Zeepy Sleep Podcast.
Why did you get into podcasting?
I’ve always loved designing products with purpose and the idea of pairing a physical sleep trainer with calming audio felt like a natural evolution. Podcasting allows us to reach families at scale with something screen-free, emotionally nourishing, and totally aligned with our mission: making bedtime better. It also gave me a creative outlet to explore storytelling in a way that connects with both kids and their caregivers.
How did the idea for the show come about?
It began as part of our product ecosystem. We wanted something to complement the Zeepy Sleep Clock a tool to help children understand when to wake and sleep. But we quickly realised that bedtime stories could go beyond routine support and actually help build emotional literacy. That’s where Kip the curious cat and Slumber the gentle sloth came in two gentle characters who help children reflect, regulate, and relax through weekly adventures.
What do you hope listeners take from the show?
Above all, I hope they feel safe, soothed, and seen. Every episode is crafted to help children wind down, understand their feelings, and feel proud of who they are. I also hope that the show helps parents build positive, connected bedtime routines that feel less like a struggle and more like a gift.
What's been the biggest challenge for you?
Balancing creative ambition with the practical side of running a business. We aim for high production quality, original music, soothing narration, and thoughtful scripts and coordinating that alongside product development, parenting, and startup life takes stamina. But hearing how the podcast has helped families makes it all worth it.
How can your listeners support your show?
The best way to support us is to subscribe, leave a review, and share the podcast with other parents or caregivers. Every mention helps more families discover Kip and Slumber. And of course, if you’re looking for a gentle way to teach your child when it’s time to sleep and wake, check out our Zeepy Sleep Clock, it's available at zeepy.co and on Amazon UK.
Any future plans that you'd like to share?
Yes! We’re now working on translated versions of the podcast with full voice in French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Our first translated stream in French is already live on Spotify. We’re also exploring new characters, seasonal stories, and long-form sleepy adventures.
Anything else you'd like to share?
We recently hit 10,000 downloads and joined the top 5% of podcasts globally something we’re incredibly proud of. Zeepy Sleep is still just getting started, and we’re so grateful to the families who’ve welcomed our stories into their homes. Sweet dreams and thank you for listening.
