Podcaster Q&A

How did the idea for the show come about?

Strangely enough, the story for The 100 Handed came to me almost at once. I knew how it would start, I know how it's going to end. It's just a matter of getting there. As far as the details, it really came out of the question: what if the abandoned insane asylum on the outskirts of San Antonio wasn't abandoned? Who lived there? How did they earn their living? What was their purpose. And the question game went on until I had a world of monster hunting magicians.

What do you hope listeners take from the show?

That, as dark as the world may be, it's worth fighting for. Never give up.

What's been the biggest challenge for you?

Learning DAW, specifically Logic Pro. Recording and mixing is incredibly expensive, and it became apparent that if I wanted the second season and beyond to become a reality, I would need to put down the pen and paper and put on a set of headphones. One of the most difficult, yet rewarding creative decisions of my life.

How can your listeners support your show?

We're kind of in a strange spot right now where we've split the show into two shows, although The 100 Handed: Lost Souls takes place a half year after The 100 Handed. The best way to support them would be to subscribe to both. Season One: anchor.fm/the100handed Season Two: https://the100handed.buzzsprout.com The next best way to support the continuation of the show is to tell everyone you know about it until they're sick of hearing about it.

Any future plans that you'd like to share?

We've got about thirty episodes written for The 100 Handed: Lost Souls. After that, I'll probably need a few months to write the scripts for the third season. We've also been kicking around the idea of a smaller scale show based on a confessional, as well as a science fiction western, though I cannot say more.
