Podcaster Q&A
Tell us about yourself – what is your background?
I am a 15-year Army veteran with 20 years of intelligence experience. My passion has always been helping others understand various geopolitical situations from different perspectives, and that is the focus of the podcast. Providing insights into global events without the back-and-forth political discourse.
Why did you get into podcasting?
During the quarantine of 2020, I became acutely aware that my wife and I were having very profound discussions on global events and coming to different conclusions in some aspects and similar opinions in other aspects. I felt that broadcasting these conversations could help others who may be struggling to understand information.
How did the idea for the show come about?
The idea came about from a passion for geopolitical analysis, a desire to share insights and knowledge with others, and the availability of technology and platforms for creating and distributing audio content. Intelligence analysis can be a valuable tool for understanding global events and providing insights to listeners, making it a natural fit for a geopolitical podcast.
What do you hope listeners take from the show?
The aim of "This Week Explained" is to provide listeners with a deeper understanding of global events through the lens of intelligence analysis. By doing so, the podcast aims to help listeners make more informed decisions and form a more nuanced perspective on complex geopolitical issues. Ultimately, the hope is that listeners will gain a greater appreciation for the complexity of the world we live in and the importance of staying informed about global events.
What's been the biggest challenge for you?
As a Founder/CEO the biggest challenge to creating the podcast is time. There are hundreds of different things going on daily, and finding the time to focus on the podcast has definitely been challenging. But, with planning and routine, each week gets easier.
