Podcaster Q&A

Tell us about yourself – what is your background?

I'm passionate about helping people discover how to live a better life, not just someday, but right now. Through my podcast, "The Better," I delve into stories that show us how to build meaningful communities, live with purpose, and truly rest, even amidst challenging times. When I'm not podcasting, I work with teenagers and their parents, which constantly reminds me that the best stories aren't just told, they're lived. I believe there is something better. Let's explore it together.

Why did you get into podcasting?

I've always loved storytelling, but my ideas felt trapped in my head. I needed an outlet. I was drawn to podcasts like This American Life, but none explored the questions I was wrestling with: How can we find meaning and connection? I realized I needed to create the show I wanted to hear – a show that delves into these questions and shares compelling stories about the human experience.

How did the idea for the show come about?

The seed for 'The Better' was planted while I was wrestling with big questions: How can we live lives of true community, purpose, and rest? Is it even possible? My research revealed that it is, and I became determined to create something that explored these ideas with the depth of C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity and the captivating sound of Radiolab or This American Life. I knew I wanted to avoid the typical interview format and instead delve into deep questions in an engaging and unexpected way.

What do you hope listeners take from the show?

My ultimate hope for 'The Better' is that listeners don't just learn about a better way to live, but actually experience it. I want the show to be more than just information; I want it to be a catalyst for transformation. I want listeners to feel a shift within themselves – a deeper sense of peace, a renewed sense of purpose, and a stronger connection to the relationships that give them true security, the kind of security that breeds vulnerability.
