Podcaster Q&A

Tell us about yourself – what is your background?

I grew up writing, making music, and loving stories, whether movies/TV, novels, or audio productions. As a descendant of three generations of pastors, speaking is in my blood, but I've never felt a calling to occupy a pulpit. I'd much rather have meaningful conversations outside the mainstream, with honest seekers of truth, because I believe truth is real and close at hand. Also, I love the blues--always have--and my current life goal is to take the music in my soul and get it out.

Why did you get into podcasting?

I've always enjoyed the audio medium, and have a gift for speaking. Podcasting felt like the perfect creative outlet to put my gifts to work, to put my voice out into the world, and to do some good.

How did the idea for the show come about?

My entire life, I've had these flashes of insight that come to me as pointed statements laden with emotion, like lines from a movie, that bloom into minor monologues. In 2021, it hit me that these little vignettes, if developed and performed and edited together, would make a fine and rather unique little podcast, especially if I spliced them together with some sweet and soulful blues. Thus, the Ramblings of a Revenant Alien was born.

What do you hope listeners take from the show?

Hope, light, and a hunger for wisdom. An openness to exploring who Jesus is. A smile, a tear, or a laugh.

What's been the biggest challenge for you?

Making my production as excellent as I'd like it to be. I want to be better at everything! But done beats perfect every time, and the only way we grow is by trying, failing, and learning!

How can your listeners support your show?

By sharing the podcast, interacting with me via e-mail and my socials, and becoming a supporter through Spotify for Podcasters!

Any future plans that you'd like to share?

Big upgrades are always in the works: better music, better audio, Q&A episodes, and more interesting guests!

Anything else you'd like to share?

Every human's story matters, yours included. Never forget that.
