Podcaster Q&A

Tell us about yourself – what is your background?

Over 35 years in the learning and training business at a large international bank, as well as, a small agency within a large municipal government. I was at the bank for almost 28 years, and for 17 of those years, I ran their IT Learning Team. In addition, I also managed a part of their Help Desk (Global Support Center) for 7 years.

Why did you get into podcasting?

I got into podcasting to share my knowledge and to let people know that when they hire me to design, develop and facilitate learning, they are getting someone who knows what he is talking about.

How did the idea for the show come about?

Over 12 years ago, I started with a blog at my former employer and it was a play on the financial firm name Motley Fools. You see, in literature, the Fool is the one who sees what others do not see, hears what others do not hear, and speaks the truth -- even if it means loosing business -- when others refuse to do so.

What do you hope listeners take from the show?

One small nugget of information. Learning something new, or a reminder of something they forgot or simply a different way of looking at something.

What's been the biggest challenge for you?

Marketing my podcasts.

How can your listeners support your show?

Subscribe, listen and like/comment. Of course, spread the word.
