Truthers: Tiffany Dover Is Dead*

25 Episodes

|

Avg Length 13m

|

Latest episode 6 days ago

Welcome to one of the internet’s weirdest obsessions. Back in December of 2020, a nurse named Tiffany Dover fainted on camera while she was talking to reporters after getting her first COVID shot. She got right back up and gave another interview, but it was too late. A conspiracy theory was already racing around the world: Dover had died. She’d been replaced by a body double. And an ever-expanding list of conspirators was in on the cover-up, including the drug companies, the hospital, the media, and maybe even the Pope. Tiffany Dover is alive and well, but she’s stayed silent through it all. And now her story has been hijacked by total strangers trying to make people doubt the safety of the COVID vaccine. In this first season of Truthers, a podcast project about misinformation and conspiracy theories, NBC News reporter Brandy Zadrozny sets out to show what’s true and what isn’t—and how one person’s life became a weapon in a global information war.

Public schools across the country are refusing to open their doors amid the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving parents with even fewer options than they had before. Parents are struggling to navigate the difficult world of remote learning, homeschooling, and “pandemic pods,” all while having to face down teachers unions, public school bureaucrats, revisionist history, and politically motivated teachers pushing their agenda onto America’s children. It doesn’t have to be this way. Parents need more options during this tumultuous time, not fewer. Let’s talk about what we can do to fix this broken system. “COVID and the Classroom” is a new biweekly podcast from The Heritage Foundation hosted by education policy analyst Mary Clare Amselem. Each episode features the most important updates in national education policy and interviews with policy experts, educators, and (most importantly) parents. “COVID and the Classroom” is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart, or your favorite podcast app. Find more resources at heritage.org/education. A podcast about (b)oldly moving from midlife to old age in a society that devalues old people and/or misunderstands what (b)old age is *really* like. Debbie, who is 72, explores that question in frank 30-minute conversations with best-selling authors, experts, and exceptional individuals. With her guests she delves into the unretired (non-retired) life, ageism, ambition, slowing down (or not), physical deterioration, grandparenting, intergenerational collaboration, grief and widowhood, and more. As well as other stuff that piques her interest such as the craft of writing. She invites her husband, Sam Harrington, on as a frequent guest. He’s a retired physician with a dry sense of humor and he makes her laugh. Debbie and Sam took a grownup gap year at age 61, leaving behind a professional life in Washington D.C. Now in their early 70s, they live a busy and productive "unretired" life on an island off the coast of Maine. Debbie writes for Substack at debbieweil.substack.com.
