Who am I?
We're sisters, Amy and Nancy, the Founders of The Passionistas Project, which we founded out of a deep desire to empower women around the world. We both walked away from high-profile jobs in Hollywood to work together. Amy was the Vice President of Visual Effects and Post Production for all feature films at Warner Bros, working on movies like the "Harry Potter," "Matrix" and "Batman" franchises. Nancy left the ad agency where she created Academy Award campaigns for Miramax. Now we shine a light on the positive stories of self-identified women and non-binary people through our media company. We have conducted over 1600 interviews including red carpet events and more than 65 one-on-one oral histories for The Interviews for the Television Academy Foundation with pop culture icons like Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Rita Moreno, Lily Tomlin, Laverne Cox, Carol Burnett, and many others. We have also produced interviews for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame including a sit-down with Mick Jagger. We were handpicked by OWN to be part of the VIP digital press corps covering "Oprah's Lifeclass" during Winfrey's tour of the U.S. and Toronto. we launched The Passionistas Project in 2018 and through their podcast, online sisterhood and Power of Passionistas summit, we strive to inspire women to follow their passions and join forces in the fight for equality for all. As the Founders of The Passionistas Project, our worked is centered on promoting intersectional feminism in collaboration with unstoppable women from the AAPI, Black, Disability, Indigenous, Latinx and LGBQTIA+ communities. We all come together to discuss how our diverse groups are affected by the pressing issues women face today. Our Power Passionistas and members of our sisterhood include thought leaders, founders of women-owned small businesses, activists, advocates, artists, coaches, educators and more.

We have provided grants the help women of domestic violence get back on their feet, the same for formerly incarcerated women, women veterans and more. Plus, women in Science, Blockchain and more. In her Ted Talk, “Fund Women- Save The World”, Catherine talks about why women are underfunded. The people making the decisions in the investment world are typically white men- and because people tend to invest in people they identify with, it is no wonder most of the money goes to men. We need more women angel investors, and more women at the decision-making table in order to change this scenario.
