Who am I?

I'm a communications and leadership nerd with a couple of decades of experience in those areas, with heap of curiosity about how we can improve the employee experience and workplace culture. I'm the creator and host of Relationships at Work - the guide for emerging leader's to create a workplace we love. I'm also an international speaker, director for digital communications, and four time top thought leader defined by the International Customer Management Institute (ICMI). My background is in customer service leadership, broadcasting, relationship management, social media marketing, brand management, public speaking, facilitation and teaching. I've had the pleasure of travelling around the planet, with my favourite locations being Bali, Germany, Australia and Greece. I hope to continue this privilege until the end of my days. Movies are also a part of how I love to spend my time. I host a popular local Facebook Group called Movie Nerds that will also be spawning a podcast very soon. I've been an advocate for empathic and compassionate relationships and communication for as long as I can remember. This included a hatred of bullies (professional and personal) in how they minimized and dismissed others and pushed me to want to do better with those around me and under my charge. That advocacy made it's way into my work in the customer experience (organizations shouldn't treat people so poorly or without consideration) and was a natural pivot to the employee journey and workplace culture space. I truly believe we deserve better - better leadership, better cultures, better ways of working and being valued in the environments we spend so much a part of our lives. I became an expert in the field as in my various roles as a leader and advocate for those I was responsible for, including establishing the highest retention rate for 12 years in a provincial organization. For more than two decades, I've had continued success in my various careers focusing on the emotions, interests, creativity, values and motivations of the humans around me. My show Relationship at Work is an extension of my curiosity in how we can improve the workplace, its culture and how we work by focusing on the humans around us.
