Who am I?
I am Elizabeth, the host of the Sleepy Bookshelf for Slumber Studios. We are on a mission to help the world get better sleep. I am a voice over artist and an actor and began using sleep podcasts during lockdown to help calm my mind before bed. I loved Get Sleepy so much that I reached out the host on Instagram to send them my demo and the rest is history. Sleep is one of, if not THE most important elements of our survival, without it, we cannot function. Insomnia affects so many of us and especially at difficult times in our lives when we most need to be able to rest in order to process our emotions and heal. I love hearing from listeners that we have managed to help them cope with their sometimes traumatic life experiences by allowing them to get rest that they deserve and so need. It makes it all worthwhile.
My Show
What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?
On The Sleepy Bookshelf, I narrate classic works of fiction and non-fiction in a sleepy way to help focus people’s minds and allow them to drift into a peaceful sleep. Many people listen to audiobooks at night but these aren’t read in a specifically sleepy way and you have to remember where you left off the night before. We include a relaxation and a recap at the beginning of each episode so you never miss anything important.
What is my podcast playlist about?
We aim to cover a variety of books in the public domain from children’s stories to science fiction so there is something for everybody. All stories are accompanied by relaxing music and aim to hold your attention just enough to keep your mind from wandering.

Having trouble sleeping? Join Yoga and meditation teacher Kathryn Nicolai for bedtime stories where nothing much happens to help you relax and sleep peacefully. The stories are a soft landing spot for your mind. Rather than letting your brain race through the same thoughts you’ve been chasing all day, we are taking a detour to a calm and comfy place. We tell the story twice and go a bit slower the second time.
