The best podcasts for comic lovers wanting to hear from other comic lovers

In any crowded market, you have to differentiate yourself. So in an online space with a seemingly endless amount of comic podcasts, married couple Brad and Lisa have crafted such a unique, compelling, fascinating and honestly entertaining niche over the last several years. Whether they're analysing great comic couples, talking to insightful comic creators or more, I always love listening to the latest episode of CBCC, and I hope you will too. Plus, that intro always puts a smile on my face! It never gets old. You'll see what I mean when you listen.

If you're looking for more traditional comic discussion about the latest weekly books in the comics space, and so much more, look no further than Rabbitt Stew Comics! Glenn, Ray and Brandon have been doing this for over 400 episodes... which is mind-blowing for me to even think about! Week in, week out. With episodes that are hours long, if you have long stretches of time you want to fill with three awesome people talking comics, boy do I have the podcast for you here. I love the dynamic between them, and they each bring something exciting and fresh to the listening experience each episode. They follow the same structure each week, more or less, which is incredibly satisfying, and makes them one of my most anticipated listens when new episodes release!

The Comics Collective is such a comfort listen for me. Which, firstly might be a surprise sometimes considering the wild(ly entertaining) tangents they sometimes end up on, but I love them for that! I know I'm more than guilty of that on my own podcast. Secondly, this isn't the only podcast I would say is a comfort listen, but it's always the one that immediately and most strongly comes to mind as one. That was a lot of words to say that I always enjoy diving into their latest episode to see what new comic run Anne, Dallas and Lexi going to discuss this week. It allows you to hear some insightful (and often heartfelt) discussion on a whole run, plus there's always some delightful levity and humour in the conversations that gets me laughing along with them. The most recent addition (out of this list, not overall) to my podcast listening rotation, I love how Eric and Dave cover an area of comic collecting that wasn't previously covered for me: collected editions. However that's not their only focus! Their monthly INCOMING! episodes let me know what collected editions coming out soon I should know about, their Top Ten episodes provide a fun dive into a particular writer, artist, character, whatever, and don't forget the Speakeasies (more casual conversation on a general topic) and creator interviews! Whatever episode it's on, I always enjoy listening to them talk, and the different ideas and perspectives they bring to the table from both sides of the pond! Plus, if you're into reading orders, check out the Omniverse Comics Guide site for all of Dave's hard work letting you know where to read what in an event, storyline or era!

Comic creator interviews are pretty cool right? They've come up a couple times already in this list. Well, what if I told you there was a comic podcast that was exclusively about interviewing creators, and it was hosted by a great comic writer as well! Even better, right? There are so many creators featured here I already loved, where I love them even more now. The conversation is always light, fun and casual in such an enjoyable way, and there are some interesting insights (and side-stories) to hear here! Plus, that name always feels so entertainingly abstract and artsy to me in a way that really scratches an itch in my brain. Fun show, check it out!
