Who am I?

I am Lo! I am a mom of two kids and an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). When you work with me I help you feel proud of every ounce you make, and to recognize each hurdle you unfairly faced while trying to make milk for your baby. I live in rural, Ma in a log cabin on 5 acres. I can just easily spend all day in the woods avoiding tics with my kids, as I can watching The Office with buckets of ice cream while avoiding chores. I love podcasts of all varieties and listen to hours worth a week. I came to this profession through my own intense struggle to feed my first baby 10 years ago. Since then I've been on a mission to understand not only HOW to help others, but WHY feeding our babies is so challenging even though we are mammals and the survival of our species has depended on this biological mechanism for thousands of years. I spent 9 years jumping through the hoops to become an IBCLC and practicing as a CLC and providing peer support as a breastfeeding counselor. In that time I learned that so many people carried shame and felt as if they failed when they were not able to feed their babies as they hoped. The Milk Making Minutes is here to change that narrative.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

The Milk Making Minutes Podcast explores baby feeding struggles and triumphs through the lens of systemic medical and cultural barriers so that you truly believe your body did not fail and your successes really were the miracles you felt them to be. My podcast directly relates to breastfeeding, and I hope those who are looking for an empowering podcast on this topic will be thrilled to find mine!

What is my podcast playlist about?

My podcast playlist are all of my favorite experts on the topic of feeding our babies! Most of them are fellow IBCLCs who have podcasts of their own, but not all! These are people I have grown to admire and have learned from over the years. Some I know in person, some I have had on my own show, and some I have admired from afar for many years. All have spent years learning and growing and creating safe spaces for all people to be welcomed into the human milk making space.
