The best podcasts about pop culture from a Christian perspective

Who am I?
I'm Tracy Herold, an animation fan who loves Jesus. I'm also a former English major who enjoys analyzing and thinking deeply about everything. So I started a podcast to take a closer look at some of my favorite animated films from a faith perspective. And I love listening to other podcasts that take the same tack of finding how faith and fandom can intersect and interact.
My Show
What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?
Toon My Heart is a podcast taking a closer look at popular animated movies through a Christian lens, in search of faith-relevant themes and traces of eternal Truth. Each episode features an overview of the history behind an animated film, along with some anecdotes about my personal history with it, a "kid's eye view" synopsis of the film from my daughter, a discussion of any elements of the film that Christians might find problematic, a theme Bible verse, and then the meat of the podcast: A synopsis of the themes and ideas I see reflected in the film's story that I believe resonate with the Christian faith.
What is my podcast playlist about?
This playlist is about podcasts that discuss various aspects of pop culture from a Christian perspective. While there are certainly elements of pop culture that aren't compatible with Christianity, I think that rather than spending our time and energy cursing the darkness, we're better served by shining the light - and by finding glimmers of that light in the world around us and pointing them out to others. That's what the podcasts on this list are all about. These are shows whose hosts recognize that pop culture can give us different ways to think and talk about our faith, and that conversely, our faith can help us examine and analyze pop culture - and maybe even enjoy it on a deeper level. They also know that pop culture can offer us opportunities to connect and converse with neighbors who might not ever set foot in a church. If you're a Christian interested in thoughtful discussions about the intersection between faith and fandom, spiritual and secular, then these shows are well worth a listen.

2. Think Christian: A Faith and Pop Culture Podcast
Why this podcast?
I love this statement from Think Christian's website "About Us" page: "We do not attempt to 'baptize' popular culture, but rather recognize that we sometimes see glimpses of God’s truth in unlikely places. There is no such thing as secular, so let’s consider Christianity and pop culture together." True to that mission statement, this podcast offers great, thoughtful discussions between host Josh Larsen and a variety of guests on many different pop culture subjects.

3. A Friend in Me
Why this podcast?
As an animation fan, I have a particular fondness for this podcast, and I love the concept: In each episode, host Porter Sprigg sits down with a different friend or family member to discuss a particular Pixar movie and the lessons they took away from it, both theological and otherwise. As any Pixar fan can tell you, these movies are full of depth, so there's always plenty of interesting discussion to be had.

Why this podcast?
Church Nerds is produced by Love Thy Nerd, a ministry that "exists to be the love of Jesus to nerds and nerd culture." Founder, president, and CEO Bubba Stallcup hosts this show with his wife Anna, and as a married couple, they have a natural rapport. There tends to be a lot of banter between the two of them at the start of every episode, before they make their way into some thought-provoking conversations about the intersection of pop culture and faith.
