Anyway, the episode. Recorded 27 January 2022, The Father of All Fathers Ama is lord of the manor this week with El Capitan Neal, Adam, Rosler, and Joseph filling out the rest of the distinguished delegates at the banquet table. Mixing it up this week, it's not Around The Pitch but AFCON The Pitch; where our heroes dive right into the glory that is the African Cup of Nations while domestic campaigns are suspended due to the international break. Before getting into the action, The Pub sent its sincere condolences and sympathies to those affected by the crush in Yaoundé that regrettably killed eight people. After that moment of reflection, the lads dug right into the astounding results from Tunisia knocking Nigeria out; Cameroon humbling Comoros (but not before Comoros produced one of the finest goals in tournament history); Morocco breaking Malawian hearts, and The Gambia continuing their AFCON fairy-tale by dispatching Guinea. Three matches went to penalties, and Senegal v. Cape Verde was a sending-off fest... you're going to love this week's AFCON-flavoured edition of Around The Pitch.
The Main Segment is another Transfer Tease where big moves and rumoured big moves are analysed down to the final signature. The episode wraps with Extra Time. You know the deal: sixty seconds. All heart. All passion. No filler.

The Main Segment digs into the USL and USL Players Association's five-year Collective Bargaining Agreement, applying critical analysis to the terms and what this means for the league going forward. The mandem also discuss a white football fan's racially abusing West Bromwich Albion midfielder Romaine Sawyers on social media and his consequent jail sentence for said abuse. BPFC wraps with Extra Time, where everyone opens up to talk about what was on their minds and what moved them that week in sixty (60) seconds or less. Or... y'know.
