Have you been struggling with nagging injuries such as knee pain or plantar fasciitis and you thought you would never run pain free again? Do you feel so lethargic and tired because you are not getting in the proper amount of nutrition to fuel all your exercise and running?

Those were the things Rachel was struggling with prior to getting guidance with myself as her running Physical Therapist/coach and Brooke Czarnecki as her running Registered Dietitian at Spark Healthy Runner.

Once Rachel got clarity on where she needed to focus her efforts with her training, she not only felt better as an athlete but just completed her first road marathon and exceeded all her expectations!

Rachel is not only an avid trail runner, serious rock climber, and now marathoner, but she is a pretty awesome person who not only is driven but takes action on getting guidance which we don’t see a whole lot in our younger 20 something year old runners and I respect that in Rachel that she has the humility to know when is the right time to ask for help.

If you are a goal oriented person and don’t want to worry and question whether you will be able to run to get in your daily stress relief then you will want to listen to Rachel’s transformation as I am sure you will resonate with what she has to say.

Healthy Runner Podcast - 186. Running Injury? Don’t Stop Running with Matt Chittim
play

07/27/23 • 75 min

Want to know what running injuries are safe to run through? As an injured runner you may have been told to stop running and rest in order to get rid of your pain.

Well-meaning medical professionals are just trying to make you feel better and get rid of your running injury and pain. However, this could be a recipe for preventing you from getting back to the sport you love! In this episode, I chat with my friend Matt Chittim from the Rambling Runner Podcast on the most common injuries you don’t have to stop running. I will break down 3 reasons to not stop running when you have a running injury. We delve into how to overcome proximal hamstring tendinopathy, runner’s knee, IT band syndrome, and plantar fasciitis.

Matt and I also had a fun segment called 5 running shoe questions in which I shared my favorite daily trainer, race day shoe, and one shoe I wanted to love but just didn’t work for me.

Healthy Runner Podcast - 98. How to Do A Tempo Run with Kristen Schulz

11/18/21 • 76 min

Tempo running, or the threshold pace runs are an important component in any runner's training plan, but what is it actually? Kristin Schulz will explain what a tempo or threshold pace run is, and how you can use it in your weekly running to run faster on your journey of becoming a lifelong injury free runner!

Are you constantly suffering a running injury that causes you to stop running and then when you are starting to feel good again and start running you get another injury?

Do you think you are old and slow and have never been an athlete so you wonder if you should even be trying to run?

Do you think you can’t do hard stuff and your mind becomes the biggest challenge you must overcome so you can be a "runner"?

Does it get hard to balance running with life...and those nagging injuries?

Do you want to become a faster runner? Do you want to run a 10-minute mile or a 5k in under 30 minutes?

Well, I have just the right person for you to listen to because Tara is one of our Healthy Runner Coaching winners and she will share the struggles she was going through trying to run and balance life as a mom of 5 busy kids ages 7-14 and constantly getting injured.

If you are struggling with constant injuries, stop and start run cycles, juggling being the best mom you can be, and wanting to run faster and you don’t want to give up, you will be able to gain some inspiration from Tara’s story so you can do it too (even if you have never been “skinny” “a runner” or an “athlete”)
