When the isolationist planet Throon builds a giant tower with a ray that incapacitates passing ships, the Legion of Super-Heroes is sent to try and stop them. The first squad which consists Saturn Girl, Bouncing Boy, Superboy, Lightning Lad, Chameleon Boy, Brainiac 5 and Invisible Kid are dispatched and find themselves easily defeated by devices that are tailor made to deal with their individual threats.
When the remaining members of the Legion all try in their own ways to get past the tower on Throon, they all meet defeat in different ways until all of the members of the Legion have been defeated. Having watched the entire fiasco on their viewing monitor, the Legion of Substitute Heroes goes in for the rescue. While the others keep the defenses of the tower busy, Night Girl uses her strength to burrow through the ground into the main control room of the tower. There she finds that the whole operation is controlled by two crazy old men. Easily defeating them and smashing their machine, Night Girl and the rest of the Substitutes free their Legion counterparts and return to Earth. There a special parade is put on in honor of the Legion of Substitute Heroes, finally giving them the recognition they deserve. - via DC Wikia

After finishing his homework, Superboy travels to the 30th Century for his regular visit with the Legion of Super-Heroes. There they are alerted by the security system of an intruder and Superboy is shocked to find it is his old tormentor Dev-Em. Capturing Dev-Em, Superboy explains how Dev-Em was a juvenile delinquent on Krypton who was sentenced to suspended animation, survived Krypton's destruction and was revived on 20th Century Earth. Superboy then recounts about how Dev-Em managed to trap Superboy in the Phantom Zone and pose as him to cause chaos around Earth. After returning from the Phantom Zone, Superboy was unable to stop Dev-Em who escaped into the distant future. Superboy would finish his story by explaining that the only way he was able to clear his name was with the help of his friend Chief Parker who told everyone Red Kryptonite was the "reason" for Superboy's rampage.

The Secret Power of the Mystery Super-Hero

With the space pirate known as Roxxas on the loose, looting various planets, the Legion of Super-Heroes decides to take on one more new member before tackling the criminal. After the typical number of "dud" heroes, the Legion agrees to select Mystery Lad, who only reveals the true nature of his powers to Saturn Girl in secret.
The Legion accepts him on Saturn Girl's say so, and Mystery Lad joins the group on their quest to stop Roxxas. During their battle, Mystery Lad exhibits different supposed abilities that keep the other Legion members missing. However, when Roxxas recognizes Mystery Lad for what he can really do - Change the properties of matter - Mystery Lad decides to turn himself over to Roxxas so nobody else gets hurt. However, when "Mystery Boy" refuses to turn objects into gold for Roxxas, he changes the gas aboard the ship into a toxic one that threatens to kill him. Roxxas and his goons, wearing space helmets manage to avoid the effects of the gas and try to make their escape. However, they are captured by the Legion who manage to arrive just in time to save Mystery Lad's life. In the aftermath of their adventure, Mystery Lad is accepted into the Legion, and rechristened Element Lad. -via DC Wikia

The Return of Lightning Lad!

While draping a ceremonial cape on the grave of the recently deceased Lightning Lad, the Legion of Super-Heroes is shocked when Lightning Lad seemingly rises from his coffin, alive and well. After recharging his apparent lost powers, Lightning Lad rejoins the Legion. However, on their daily routine of missions, each of the Legion members (including Chameleon Boy's new pet Proty) begin to suspect that the person aiding them is not their Lightning Lad.
After busting up some alien criminals, the Legion figures out the truth, that this is not really Lightning Lad at all, but his twin sister disguised as him. She reveals that she took the body of her brother to a planet where there is perpetual lightning as a suitable resting place and decided to take his place to continue his heroic tradition in his place. With the truth revealed, the Legion accepts her into their team and she is rechristened as Lightning Lass. - via DCWikia
