Lucinda is a warm and perceptive Coach, whose interest in encouraging people to develop themselves and learn, both in and out of the workplace, has been honed during a 30-year career as a senior leader, during which she held a range of transformational, strategic and high-level fundraising roles across the charity sector. She describes her coaching approach as gentle, courageous and curious, and I would echo this with our conversation we had on how she became a coach and her passion for people and especially working with women.

Since recording the interview, Lucinda is now in the process of establishing her coaching niche as a Self Belief and Confidence Coach for women in the workplace. Having found that she attracts these clients, and having worked with some amazing women who have transformed their lives by working with her, it made sense to focus in this arena.

Listen to Kajal who shares how a GP and a managing partner of a practice had to adapt significantly when the UK went into lock down, whilst ensuring the safety and welfare of their patients, along with the practice staff. Some of the key measures were put in place, especially the phone system, where Kajal and her team had to do numerous diagnosis without seeing the patient face to face, very challenging. However the phone system is now something that will continue going forward, which has become a positive for those who find it difficult to take time of work for an initial GP appointment. Kajal in all of this had to manage a family, along with childcare and the challenges that brings within the health service.

Listen to Richard, who had to send thousands of staff home in many countries to work from home, all done in a weekend, something that would have taken months to plan and execute. Richard demonstrates a decisive approach to his leadership during this time, along with making people matter in this time due to their personal circumstances of covid-19. The companies response was swift with their own people but also to maintain client continuity, and in fact producing campaigns during this time like the ones for Kit Kat, Heinz and Ikea which were all related to covid-19 impact. We have taken a purposeful shift with this mini series whilst we are all grappling with the challenges of #covid19 impact, and have spoken to a number of business and HR leaders who have been dealing with this is various organisations. We wanted to understand lessons learned, changes made and how they want to emerge into a different place when this is over. The series is called 'Setting Your Sat Nav for the End of Lock Down'. We are also joined by another coach, Duncan Skelton to bring some other insightful understandings to the conversation. And we explore areas like the below: > Personal leadership/Professional Leadership during these times > Crisis management >Individual Wellbeing and Collective Wellbeing > Spheres of Influence - personally and professionally, > Accountability > Resiliency rather than efficiency.

Would love to hear what you have to say on this matter, please engage and comment. Thank you.

Listen to Roland who shares his very personal and very inspiring story, who used a rock bottom moment to propel him forward to now be a help to people with personal disability or disability in the workplace.

In his own words:

In 2006 I collapsed. Shortly afterwards I was told that I had only two weeks to live.

Over ten years later I am still here, not only surviving but thriving!

I’m Roland Chesters, founder of Luminate, and I live with HIV and dyspraxia, a neurological disability as a result of progressive multifocal leukoencephalytis, which was my AIDS-defining illness. There was a time when I saw no future for myself, I was at rock bottom and I thought I was going to die. But through sheer grit, determination and a fierce desire to live I went against the odds to go on to live a happy and fulfilling life.
