Secrets & Spies aims to seek out and engage in meaningful discussions with experts and practitioners about espionage, terrorism, geopolitics and intrigue. Not all episodes are directly about espionage as some topics, such as terrorism, are pretty complex and require a look at the underlying ideology behind it to lead to a deeper understanding of the topic. Also, due to the nature of the podcast topics, some episodes delve into the contemporary politics behind an issue. The podcast does its best to remain balanced. However, the show does take a critical view of the MAGA movement, far-left/far-right politics and Trumpism.

Sword and Scale is a true crime podcast covering the dark underworld of crime and the criminal justice system’s response to it. The first episode launched January 1st, 2014 and feature stories of murder, abduction, rape, and even more bizarre forms of crime. It’s the purest form of true-crime where the raw uncensored audio tells the story. Everything from 911 calls to court testimony, interviews with victims and sometimes with perpetrators give listeners a 360 degree look at the seedy underbelly of human nature and so-called civilized society. Told from an everyman's point of view, Sword and Scale goes beyond the news clips and the sensationalist headlines to hold up a mirror to the audience and ask, "Is it us versus them? Or are we just like 'them' too?" Sword and scale proves that the worst monsters are real.

Season 3: Trouble in Sweetwater Violence. Retaliation. Disappearances. The Navajo Nation is 27,000 square miles of remote terrain with just over 200 tribal police officers. This season on Stolen, Connie Walker’s investigation into the cases of two missing women leads her on a search for justice in a place where people say you can get away with murder. Reporting for Stolen: Trouble in Sweetwater was supported by the International Women’s Media Foundation’s (IWMF) Fund for Indigenous Journalists reporting on issues related to Missing & Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP) with a concentration on women, girls, Two-Spirit, and transgender people. Season 2: Surviving St. Michael's Last May, investigative journalist Connie Walker came upon a story about her late father she'd never heard before. One night back in the late 1970s while he was working as an officer in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, he pulled over a suspected drunk driver. He walked up to the vehicle and came face-to-face with a ghost from his past—a residential school priest. What happened on the road that night set in motion an investigation that would send Connie deep into her own past, trying to uncover the secrets of her family and the legacy of trauma passed down through the generations. In Stolen: Surviving St. Michael's, Connie unearths how her family's story fits into one of Canada's darkest chapters: the residential school system. Season 1: The Search for Jermain In 2018, a young Indigenous mother named Jermain Charlo left a bar in Missoula, Montana, and was never seen again. After two years and thousands of hours of investigative work, police believe they are close to solving the mystery of what happened to her. We go inside the investigation, tracking down leads and joining search parties through the dense mountains of the Flathead Reservation. As we unravel this mystery, Stolen: The Search for Jermain examines what it means to be an Indigenous woman in America. Stolen is hosted by Connie Walker.

After midnight on July 6th, 2012, three teenage girls walked into the thick Appalachian woods somewhere along the Mason-Dixon line. Hours later, under the glow of a nearly full moon, only two walked out. The very last time Dave and Mary Neese saw their only child Skylar was in a grainy black-and-white video. In it, she's sneaking out of her ground-floor bedroom in the middle of the night, her purse over her shoulder, her brown hair swinging as she hurries across the small parking lot to a waiting car. What happened to Skylar Neese has become gothic American lore: the odd girl out in a vicious teenage triangle. But in the ten years since that fateful night beneath the West Virginia stars, a fuller portrait of what happened has emerged. From award-winning journalists Justine Harman and Holly Millea comes a gripping 10-part series featuring Skylar's family, closest friends, and law enforcement who lived the case—and are still living it.

Vi bjuder på unika möten med kända och mindre kända personer i mörkret, och på samtal om ett annat sätt att se. Innocent until proven guilty or no smoke without fire? Which one accurately describes your perception of the UK Criminal Justice system? What does; “beyond reasonable doubt” mean? Can you ever be sure? In this series, I talk to people who were victims of high profile miscarriage of justice cases including; Michael O'Brien (one of the Cardiff Newsagent Three), John Actie wrongly charged with the murder of Lynette White and remanded for nearly two years until his trial, victims of the Post Office Scandal. I talk to family members including; Barry George's sister, Michelle and I am joined by others who have fought and continue to fight for justice including; investigative journalist Don Hale OBE and MOJO (the charity founded by Paddy Hill). Sadly, miscarriages of justice have happened and continue to happen here in the UK and the reality is that one day this could happen to you or someone you love. Some people may find the content of this series very upsetting and some episodes contain strong language and details regarding violence and sexual assaults. About the host: Maxine Twynam I am a practicing criminal defence solicitor. I have predominantly worked for small niche criminal defence firms representing people accused of a range of crimes from driving offences, shoplifting to sexual offences, serious violence and murder.
