Horticultural science is the only discipline that incorporates both the science and aesthetics of plants. It is the science and art of producing edible fruits, vegetables, flowers, herbs, and ornamental plants, improving and commercializing them. Plants, People, Science, a podcast by the American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS), will bring you the recent advancements in science, technology, innovation, development, and education for economically important horticultural crops and plants. Each episode features an interview with an American Society for Horticultural Science member, a discussion of their current work in the field, and the story behind their research. ASHS members focus on practices and problems in horticulture: breeding, propagation, production and management, harvesting, handling and storage, processing, marketing and use of horticultural plants and products. In this podcast, you will hear from diverse members across the horticultural community - scientists, educators, students, landscape and turf managers, government, extension agents, and industry professionals.
Join Rob Kaiser as he builds a life and homestead with his family. Building a balanced life. 🌱

Karen O' Donoghue Founder of The Happy Tummy Co. found herself in an industry many years ago described as "The Wellness Industry." Not totally comfortable sitting within those parameters and becoming more and more disillusioned by what was being said and reported from within that community Karen ran away to the country where she really did begin to find herself again and rediscovered the fire in her activist nature and need to do something good for the world.
The daughter of a horticulturist father and a farming mother Karen's relationship with the soil has been lifelong. Baking bread since the age of four lead Karen to build a preventative medicine brand around better bread back in 2013. But more on that throughout the episodes here.
Here is a space for Karen to celebrate her heroes. The women and men taking care of our soil and of our health. Investigative food journalism with a touch of awe most of the time!

My husband, the 8th Earl of Carnarvon, and I have the enormous privilege and pleasure of living in, and taking care of, my husband’s family home, Highclere Castle, which is better known to many people as the setting for the popular television programme “Downton Abbey”. Thanks to this series, our home has, over the last few years, become one of the most well-known and iconic houses in the world. My Podcast is my way of trying to share the stories and heritage of this wonderful building and estate, and all the people and animals that live and work here, so that you can get to know and love it as I do.
