HAUNTED: The Audio Drama tells the story of reclusive alcoholic writer James Hunter, bubbly enthusiastic podcaster Abigail Corbin and police officer Dan Cowell as they investigate strange and seemingly unexplainable phenomenon. Told in a classic serial format with episodes raging from suspenseful thrillers, to spine tingling horrors to laugh-out-loud comedies, HAUNTED: The Audio Drama is a horror adventure series that feels like Doctor Who crossed with The X Files.

Season 2 begins on April 16th 2023 and sees our trio playing a nationwide game of cat and mouse as they try to capture the wicked occultist Karl Trevino following his deadly antics in Greenvale in season 1. As they push further and further into the unexplained however, Dan and Abigail are forced to confront the idea that their friend James Hunter might not be who he says he is.

Listen to the entire epic series, which follows Survivors in Los Angeles after the world has been turned upside down.

It begins with “A Story of Survival” which spans from Chapters 1-48. Our survivors band together, fortify a safe haven known as the Tower, and discover that the Infected are far from the biggest threat they will have to face.

The adventure continues with two mini-series:

“Lockdown” - A small group of inmates and prison guards are trapped in the T-block at Twin Towers Jail. They are forced to work together and find a way to escape while the rest of the world ends around them.

“Goldrush” - Set 17 years after the main events of “A Story of Survival”, this is a recollection story that describes the efforts of the four Soldiers as they attempt a side mission to retrieve a suspected stash of gold bullion.

Our newest season is “We’re Alive: Descendants”:

The story of survival continues; the fight is not over.

18 years after the Outbreak, the world is starting to re-organize and rebuild, but many different forms of humanity are still struggling to survive in the aftermath. Nicholas Tink grew up in the shadow of his father- the late, great, Saul Tink. Little does he know that deep in the places where infected dwell, another descendant lies waiting.

Content Warning: This podcast contains descriptions of graphic violence, sexual references, and strong language. Listener discretion is advised.

Nat Love was born a slave, emancipated into abject poverty, grew up riding the range as a cowboy and spent his maturity riding the rails as a Pullman Porter. For me, the most amazing thing about him is that despite the circumstances of his life, which included being owned like a farm animal solely because of the color of his skin and spending later decades living and working as an equal with white coworkers, he was an unrepentant racist! Convinced that the only good Indian was a dead one, and that all Mexicans were “greasers” and/or “bums,” he rarely passed up a chance to shoot a member of either group, whether in self-defense or cold blood, and shows no sign of having appreciated the difference. At one point, he fell in love with a Mexican girl but, apparently unable to tolerate this reality, considered her “Spanish.” Nat Love was a fascinating character who lived in equally interesting times, and one only wishes his autobiography was much longer and more detailed.

The Man in the Iron Mask by Alexandre Dumas

The Man in the Iron Mask by Alexandre Dumas is part of the novel The Vicomte of Bragelonne: Ten Years After, published in serial form between 1857-50. It is also the last of the D'Artagnan stories written by Dumas and the three musketeers are the real heroes of the story, though the title is given to the man in the iron mask. The story opens with Aramis (one of the musketeers who is now a priest) taking the last confession of a prisoner who is condemned to be executed soon. His confession comes as a thunderbolt to the former musketeer. This mysterious person is actually the identical twin brother of Louis XIV. He was ordered to be killed by his own parents, Louis XIII and Anne of Austria, to prevent any future challenge to the throne. However, he is ultimately thrown into prison and has lived there ever since. Now that Louis has ascended the throne, he is condemned to die. Aramis is not one to let such a crime go unpunished. He enlists the help of Porthos. He feels that Phillipe being the older twin and thus entitled to reign should be restored to the throne and along with this, Aramis himself can also become the Cardinal of France. Devious plots are meanwhile underway, launched by the evil Superintendent of Finance, Fouquet. Aramis brings Phillipe to the palace, kidnaps Louis and substitutes one twin for another. And the story races to its gripping climax. In The Man in the Iron Mask, the final moments of some of musketeers is depicted very poignantly. Alexandre Dumas' story is based on some interesting historical facts. A mysterious prisoner called Eustache Daugher was held in several prisons across France and Italy, for 34 years under the custody of the same jailer who moved with him constantly. The French novelist Voltaire was the first to speculate about the possible identity of Daugher. However, nothing has been proven conclusively, though the story provided rich material for many conspiracy theories and novels. As a fast paced Three Musketeers adventure, The Man in the Iron Mask is indeed an exciting and interesting read.

Boston Blackie is a fictional character who has been on both sides of the law. As originally created by author Jack Boyle, he was a safecracker, a hardened criminal who had served time in a California prison. Prowling the underworld as a detective in adaptations for films, radio and television, the detective Boston Blackie was "an enemy to those who make him an enemy, friend to those who have no friend." The Boston Blackie radio series, starring Chester Morris, began June 23, 1944, on NBC as a summer replacement for The Amos 'n' Andy Show. Sponsored by Rinso, the series continued until September 15 of that year. Lesley Woods appeared as Blackie's girlfriend Mary Wesley, and Harlow Wilcox was the show's announcer. On April 11, 1945, Richard Kollmar took over the title role in a radio series syndicated by Frederic W. Ziv to Mutual and other network outlets. Over 200 episodes of this series were produced between 1944 and October 25, 1950. Other sponsors included Lifebuoy Soap, Champagne Velvet beer and R&H beer.

These stories are my response to walking the Camino de Santiago. It is not a practical guide, nor a series of interviews, nor a memoir. It is story, inspired by my real experiences and infused occasionally with a layer of holy imagination. I know it is worthwhile because I am not just hoping to tell my own story. I am hoping to tell more of the whole story, glimpse more of the whole truth. So, welcome pilgrim! Because I’m a firm believer that whether or not you have already walked or are interested in walking the Camino de Santiago, or a pilgrimage at all, guess what? ...YOU'RE ALREADY ON ONE! Helpful hint: If you love descriptive or philosophical ponderings..stick to the even-numbered episodes. If you appreciate imagination, faith and asking what could be...go for the odds. But I hope you can listen to all.
Sincerely-Hollee Brock

A word about me in the words of Jehanne de Quillan (in the introduction to The Gospel of the Beloved Companion)- "...being neither an academic nor a scholar by profession, I realized that rather than a hindrance, the slack granted me a freedom that would likely be unavailable to those closely guarding the reputations within their chosen field. Not having a reputation to lose means that one can proceed with one’s work without concern for the ripples that it might generate among those who oppose one’s conclusions.”

Published in 1903, King Arthur and His Knights by Maude L. Radford is an easy to read version of the Arthurian legends, made simple and interesting for children. Maude Lavinia Radford Warren was a Canadian born American who taught literature and composition at the University of Chicago between 1893-1907. Following the success of some of her books, she left teaching to take up writing as a full time career. She also served as a war correspondent for the New York Times magazine during WWI and contributed several remarkable features on the role of women in the conflict. Some of the books she wrote for adults like The White Flame of France are non-fiction accounts of her wartime experiences in Europe. Some of her other novels like Barbara's Marriages deal with social issues of the day. The book begins with the traditional childhood invocation so beloved of children all over the world, “Once upon a time...” and opens with the miraculous incident through which young Arthur realizes that he is the heir to the throne and the rightful owner of the fabulous sword, Excalibur. The rest of the chapters deal with several well known stories connected with the legend of Camelot. How each one of the famous Knights of the Round Table arrives at Camelot, Arthur's marriage to Guinevere, the quest for the Holy Grail and finally, Arthur's poignant death at the hands of the evil Sir Mordred on the lake isle of Avalon and the final return of Excalibur to the depths of the lake are all dramatically presented. King Arthur and His Knights is indeed a captivating read for children and makes a great read-aloud book for bedtime. For older children, it may perhaps spur them on to further research into this blend of fact and fiction, legend and myth, history and fable. The charming illustrations by Walter J. Enright add to the book's appeal for children. Maude L Radford wrote several other books for young readers, among them Robin Hood and his Merry Men, Mother Hubbard's Wonderful Cupboard, Mother Goose and Her Friends, Peter-Peter, Adventures in the Old Woman's Shoe and many more, making her one of the best loved writers of children's books in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Though most of her works are forgotten today, her books are sure to capture childhood imagination and are told in a simple, easy to grasp style.

By not worrying about the thousands of outcomes and embracing failure. If this sounds interesting then tune in every week for a chaotic and raw conversation between 2 best friends.
