The Emerald explores the human experience through a vibrant lens of myth, story, and imagination. Brought to life through the wise, wild, and humorous vision of Joshua Michael Schrei — a teacher and lifelong student of the cosmologies and mythologies of the world — the podcast draws from a deep well of poetry, lore, and mythos to challenge conventional narratives on politics and public discourse, meditation and mindfulness, art, science, literature, and more. At the heart of the podcast is the premise that the imaginative, poetic, animate heart of human experience — elucidated by so many cultures over so many thousands of years — is missing in modern discourse and is urgently needed at a time when humanity is facing unprecedented problems. The Emerald advocates for an imaginative vision of human life and human discourse as it questions deep underlying assumptions about societal progress.

Mythillogical is the podcast where two enthusiasts of mythology, history and folklore try and make sense of the wide variety of fantastic tales told by cultures around the world. We discuss why the same idea can show up in the mythology of cultures on opposite sides of the world, what real events can inspire superstition and folklore, how stories can completely change over time, and where possible try to figure out what could have inspired people to dream up dragons, demons, gods and monsters. May contain wild speculation, terrible puns, and if we’re lucky, actual facts.

THIS HOUSE WILL DEVOUR YOU is a story of love, madness, murder, mysteries and dead gods set in the1920's. It is an epistolary audio drama as told by Jon and Elizabeth to each other in their letters.

Season One takes place in Ireland and England, with the action in Season Two focussed on Egypt, as well as Ireland and England.

Come join us for a gothic, slow burn story of gothic horror, romance and adventure!

For lovers of creepy, slow-burn, gothic 1920’s historical fiction, romance and low key horror. "...perfectly timed for the fireside", one of the Sunday Independent's "newly hatched gems" (December 2022).
SEASON ONE is a twelve part story of love, madness, murder, mysteries and dead gods set in Ireland and England. Kilphaun Hall sits high on a ridge overlooking the Blackwater river in County Waterford. Abandoned and silent for so long, it echoes now to the cheerful sounds of renovation and preparations for the coming social season of winter 1925. But Kilphaun Hall has its secrets and some places are best left to rot, forgotten. Set between England and the uneasy peace of post-Civil War Ireland, newly returned Captain Jon Ross must survive both local hostility and the increasingly sinister happenings at the house as his English fiancée Elizabeth Sanderson risks London’s occultist demi-monde in a race to save him.
In SEASON TWO Elizabeth comes to the fore as she sets off for Egypt in a possibly foolhardy quest for a cure for her stricken brother and now appears to have gotten herself mixed up in something very sinister, involving ancient Egyptian gods, cursed expeditions, murderous secret societies and imperial ambitions.

Some example shows are: Being arrested outside of a comic shop, the more-than-a-friendship of Gilgamesh and Enkidu, shutting down Neopets, the unending terror that is Homestuck, the unending terror that is living in Russia, filming and acting in three feature length indie films, dreams with legitimate sequels and the Emperor of the United States. Myth Dynamite is a labour of absolute and unequivocal love for ancient mythology. We - Abi and Sarah - met back in 2016 when we both decided to happily sacrifice another year of further study at the altar of the Olympian Gods. We left a year later, with shiny new MA Classics degrees, and a firm friendship. Ever since we've had dinner after dinner (billed as catch ups) that would unsurprisingly result in conversations on myth, and how its many, many stories reflect and refract some of today's issues: sexuality, the self, gender, power, family, respect, and humanity's immutable ability to metamorphose (lovely little Ovid reference for those who know, and for those who don't head over to our first full episode 'One Poet to Rule them All' to find out. A shameless plug, we'll admit it.) It became very clear to us, that we had a lot to say - and we want to share it with people: other people who love myth; people who have some idea of myth; and people who haven't come across ancient Greek and Roman myths before. Hence - after a long time spent developing it (read talking about myth some more) - a shining star, which Myth Dynamite will hopefully be for people, was born (if you haven't, please see Disney's 'Hercules' stat).N.B. This is ancient myth and we're not censoring it. There will be adult content throughout. We hope you have as much fun listening to us rabbit on about myth as we had making this podcast.

Ancient Myths and Legends, short stories, full length novels, science fiction and high fantasy, philosophy, traditions, drama, fiction, non-fiction, romance, theatre, ghosts & haunts, suspense, stories of the strange, and more! Our stories may be drawn from contemporary sources, or from some dusty near-forgotten tome. Regardless it is a treat like no other to listen to the stories & tales presented in a "live" format with the emotion and feeling a true professional storyteller brings. The Seanchai's job is much more than purely entertainment. The Seanchaí is the custodian of stories and traditions in need of preservation, and possesses the skill to ignore the inhibitions of modern day stifled conversations and instead focuses their attention on presenting those of us with keen ears - with the stories of the past, sometimes the present and, perhaps, even of what's to come. The infectious tones that we hear from their lips allow us to momentarily slip away from the modern day and very real world and conjure up images of Yesterday, Tomorrow, and Fantasy. So enter here, and let us be your Seanchaí for a time!

I asked my female and non-binary guests the same four questions, and together, we followed the intriguing threads of story and curiosity as they unspooled. 1 - Where are you and whose traditional (Indigenous) territory are you on? 2 - What’s your favourite fairytale/ancient tale? 3 - What’s your relationship with your body like? 4 - And what’s your connection to your creativity? These potent conversations are created by mixing creativity + the body + fairy tales + conversation with wild abandon.
