The Writing Podcast was founded in late 2014 in the wake of The Self Publishing Roundtable’s final host stepping down from the show. Adam and Lindsay (the newest hosts of SPRT at the time) decided it would be best to branch off into a new show rather than continue with one in which all original hosts and owners were no longer involved. So what are the similarities and differences between this podcast and the old? I am glad you asked, convenient narrator. Like Adam and Lindsay’s prior show, this series of podcasts will be predominately an interview show. We also plan to use one of the features in the newest iteration of SPRT and have Hot Topic discussions with multiple guests. Although this will be a recurring event, it will not be every other week like the previous podcast. Also, despite the fact that we will be predominately bringing you actionable writing and publishing advice from self-publishing, we plan to have traditionally published authors on the show. We believe this will be a nice change of pace and will finally put to rest the common saying that traditionally published authors do not have to market their own books (unless they are Stephen King or such). This is one of the major reasons the show is named The Writing Podcast instead of something specifically related to self-publishing. Of course as of the time I type this, the podcast and website is in its infancy (let’s be honest ... fetal stage). As such, the mission and content of the show is subject to change. What will not change is our mission to share and learn alongside you from these accomplished writers. The current plan is to host our first show LIVE on December 19th, 2014 at 1:00 PM MST. Keep an eye on our homepage, Facebook, and Twitter for more information coming soon. Although we appreciate anyone who dedicates time to watch live, we definitely understand that it is not always possible or convenient. Heck, if you’re like me you’d rather listen to shows while you are away from the computer. If that is you too, then you will be happy to know that the episodes will all be available on Youtube and iTunes shortly after the live show!

Each of us has a unique gift to offer humanity. When we boldly share it with the world, we expand into the grandest version of ourselves and come fully alive. If you are a coach, consultant or course creator then chances are you are driven by the desire to help as many people as you can, and leave a lasting impact. You have experience that needs to be shared. Knowledge that needs to be taught. A message that needs to be heard. Plus, a business that needs to be scaled. But in the age when anyone with an opinion can shout about it on the internet, why is it that some coaches are able to cut through the noise and position themselves as true influencers with something meaningful to share? What is it that they are doing that you haven’t figured out yet? The answer, of course, is writing their book. Because writing a book is the most powerful way to position yourself as a thought leader and the go-to expert in your niche. Because when you do that, you are going to be able to 10x your influence, your impact and your income. I’m Jessica Killingley and I’m a book mentor, coach and literary agent. I work with ambitious entrepreneurs who help other people to do extraordinary things. I’m going to be sharing my experience from over two decades in publishing and everything I know about selling books, creating bestsellers, personal development, coaching and business, so that you can get a brilliant book out into the world that’s going to turn delighted readers into devoted clients. KidLit Classics is a podcast dedicated to celebrating classic children's literature. It is an ode to childhood reading and the kidlit community. Each episode I chat with one guest from the kidlit industry - be it author, bookseller, educator, publishing professional - about the children's book that sparked their love of reading, got them involved in the kidlit community, or is just the one they love the most. We take a deep dive into each guest's chosen book, discussing what it's about, why it's so special, how it influenced children's literature and literary culture, and finish with a dramatic reading and a brief chat about the guest's own work. If you are loving the podcast, why not Buy Me A Coffee ... Each donation helps with the time and effort involved in preparing, recording, editing, producing, distributing and marketing the episodes - ensuring we're sustainable and can continue supporting the kidlit community.

Print Run is a podcast created and hosted by Laura Zats and Erik Hane. Its aim is simple: to have the conversations surrounding the book and writing industries that too often are glossed over by conventional wisdom, institutional optimism, and false seriousness. We’re book people, and we want to examine the questions that lie at the heart of that life: why do books, specifically, matter? In a digital world, what cultural ground does book publishing still occupy? Whether it’s trends in the queries from writers that hit our inboxes or the social ramifications of an industry that pays so little being based in Manhattan, we’re here for it. Probably to laugh at it and call it names, but here for it nonetheless. Print Run is the happy-hour conversation after a long day at a catalog launch; it’s the bottle of wine you drink most of on a Tuesday when the manuscripts are no good. We’re for writers, for publishers, for anyone who’s opened a book and wanted to know—really know—what goes into getting the damn thing made. Join us. We’ll talk about the worst sex scene we’ve ever read and wonder aloud about how millennials will affect the books of the future. We’ll figure out why Jonathan Franzen wants to replace your child with a penguin and whether or not that penguin will be buying hardcovers when he grows up.
