The best podcasts for those that give a damn about global issues

Who am I?

Just someone who simultaneously thinks that the world is absolutely wonderful and absolutely f*cked up. And in wanting the world to be more wonderful than not, I'm committed to learning more, being inspired more, and doing more to leave our home better than we found it. Care to join? I used to feel small and that my contributions were meaningless. But as the saying goes, drop by drop is a water pot filled. I realized that systems change doesn't absolve you of individual responsibility because we are all part of the system.

What is my podcast playlist about?

If you're tired of complaining about how messed up the world is and don't want to sit around while problems pile up, this is the playlist for you. This is a playlist that dives headfirst into the heart of very messy and complex problems: climate crisis, systemic racism, and homelessness, to name a few. It's not just about raising awareness--it's about refusing to accept things as it is and working together to unf*ck the world. Now, let's get to work.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. System Catalysts

Why this podcast?

In an increasingly complex world, it will take more than sticking a band-aid on a problem and calling it a day. It takes a new way of thinking and doing to create broad and sweeping systems change. But how do we do that? Enter System Catalysts. This podcast shares stories from change-makers who have successfully cracked the code in some of the world's problems. Not only that, but they also share the code with us.

We can't fix the world alone. But we all know that collaborating is hard. And systems? Well, they seem to be allergic to change. So how do we do it without losing our damn minds?

On System Catalysts, you will learn from activists, philanthropists, and change makers who put their egos aside to improve the systems that run the world. This season, we’ll be looking into healthcare, marriage equality, migration, climate and more. Join Jeff Walker and English Sall as they go behind-the-scenes of systems change, cracking the code on making the world a better place.

System Catalysts is produced by Hueman Group Media.
