Who am I?
I'm an international B2B consultant who has advised hybrid/remote work teams for the last 10 years (well before it was a daily headline). I've worked for 5 different corporations, 2 of them global, over the last two decades. I pioneered hybrid work and have worked some version of hybrid/remote since 2012. If I’m tossing metrics, I like to mention that I owned business-critical relationships totalling more than $1 billion. My deep expertise means that I’ve been interviewed extensively in the media - newspapers, television, radio, magazines. I spoke at a world-class conference about the positive impacts of hybrid/remote on work and wellness. I am well-connected and have the ear of senior transformation consultants and futurists around the globe. In addition to working with organizations, I run the Hybrid/Remote Centre of Excellence, a membership designed to support & inspire C-Suite, HR experts and leaders. This cutting edge resource is powered by my podcast of the same name - 30 episodes & counting & thousands of downloads. I’m focusing my efforts on becoming one of the best resources for B2B hybrid/remote education today. The #1 skill for the 21st century is navigating uncertainty. You don’t have to do it alone. If you have been tasked with creating hybrid/remote strategy and are feeling overwhelmed with content, statistics, opinions (no shortage of those!!), I can help you make progress. What you get when you work with me: -deep research -innovative thinking -leadership through storytelling -expertise in difficult conversations -future-focused creativity -accountability -employee perspective -co-creation -ability to operationalize change How does my work make people feel? ´You are the voice of the unheard employee.’ ‘I need you to speak to my management team. I don’t think they have any idea how to do hybrid well.’ ´I’ve been working remotely for 20 years and it’s so good to see someone talk about remote in such a positive way. Thank you for being an advocate.’ ´I had to speak with you because it’s so rare to find like-minded people who are willing to go on camera and advocate for a better future of work.´ The work I do with you helps you create long-term solutions that will not only retain and attract staff, it will help them thrive. You will ensure the business is set up to succeed but also be at the forefront of leadership. I'm a change strategist and storyteller. I've worked some version of hybrid or remote since 2012. I started advocating for work from home when I had two kids under 5 and a 4 hour daily commute. The Hybrid/Remote Centre of Excellence is a podcast where we talk about co-creating the future of work. It’s powered by questions. How do we bring the best elements of corporate from the past into the future? How can we design a workplace that will allow employees to thrive and integrate their work into their lives? What will the corporation of the future look like more importantly, what will it feel like? Will the future be hybrid or will we be working remotely? How will the office be re-imagined. And how does that affect leadership process procedure? Employee engagement and retention? Are you tired of the same old podcasts that rehash what you already know? Do you crave insights from those shaping our world with innovative ideas, all while understanding the vital concept of trust? Want to thrive in the digital disruption era, where trust is key? If you said yes to any of these, listen to the Hybrid/Remote Centre of Excellence podcast. It's not just about hybrid/remote—it's about everything, including the crucial role of trust. Society is shifting from hierarchical organizational trust to distributed trust and this impacts all aspects of life and work. Excellence is subversive. What future would you love to see? This is different from best practices - that's what everyone else is doing. What is your favourite personal vision of the future of work? We are witnessing the transformation of technology, society, and complex systems. Let's explore designing a flexible, human-centric workplace that fosters trust, mastering leadership in hybrid and remote settings. The status quo has its own risks - change is not a bad word but people adapt their worldviews only when the story of change resonates for them. Prepare to challenge assumptions, spark imagination, and take action, with trust and creativity as our guiding principles. Meet experts, leaders, and innovators sharing their expertise and stories about diverse experiences and skills necessary for the future of work. Chatting is my superpower. Let's chat. I'm your host, Nola Simon, a hybrid/remote futurist, an organizational consultant working with companies to create and implement hybrid/remote strategy that works well now but also sets the company and employees up for success in the future of work 5 or 10 years from now.

A Fresh Story, season 3, episode 11
What’s the relationship between crisis control, public relations, and divorce? Well, a lot! We had the immense pleasure of chatting with the fantastic Pop Culture and PR Expert Molly McPherson about communications, social media, public relations, and how to navigate our inner resilience during our own personal crises. It’s a beautiful conversation about the intersection between our public personas, our private crises, and how we come out the other side stronger and more resilient.
Molly McPherson, M.S., APR, is a nationally recognized expert in crisis public relations in the age of social media. She is the author of the book, Indestructible: Reclaim Control and Respond with Confidence in a Media Crisis and is a well-known Pop Culture & PR expert on TikTok. Molly helps organizations manage issues - from emerging to crisis - by combining her knowledge of current communication practices with years of media and crisis management experience.
In addition to hosting the podcast "The Indestructible PR® Podcast with Molly McPherson," she frequently speaks to executives and organizations about communication trends, crisis communications, and public relations. Through her experience in FEMA’s Office of External Affairs during post-Hurricane Katrina efforts, and as Director of Communications for the Cruise Line International Association in Arlington, Virginia, Molly created a proven public relations framework for responding to a public backlash both online and in the press.
On a personal note, Molly is a mom of four wonderful children (now all young adults!). She prioritizes her relationships with her kids by cheering them on at their hockey games, soccer games, and theatre events, as well as attending family events at their schools and universities. Molly enjoys running, and is currently training for a half marathon!
Check out more from Molly on her website, Instagram, and Twitter, and of course TikTok. Listen to Molly’s podcast here, too!

2. EP 444: World-Building a More Sustainable Work Environment with Morgan Harper Nichols
Why this podcast?
I love the idea of using the literary skills of world-building and applying them to the future of work. Fiction and futurism pair well.

This is the second episode in my new series, "Strange New Work."
Artist and writer Morgan Harper Nichols is a world-builder. She says, "Worldbuilding, for me, [is] a form of expansive hope—a necessary imagination for being alive." What is world-building? It's the process of creating secondary, fictional worlds. There's world-building in all sorts of fiction—but especially science fiction, speculative fiction, and fantasy.
And world-building as a practice—a necessary imagination—can be a tool for mapping a better work environment, too.
Footnotes:
