Who am I?

I am making a podcast on accepting failure and I wanted to show my listeners what has inspired me! <3 I totally lost my marbles, failed down the rabbit hole, and wanted to use my story as a reminder to myself and others that everyone fails sometimes.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

My podcast is about talking about failure—be it my failures, failures of others, or failures within society.

What is my podcast playlist about?

Part of my focus is having difficult conversations and I wanted to show some podcasts that also talk about hard things. I also have learned to embrace failure by getting comfortable with the uncomfortable—an idea that all of these shows explore.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. Happier At Work®

Why this podcast?

I interviewed Aoife about how to improve workplace environments and one of the biggest takeaways from talking to her is that we need to talk about work with our coworkers and peers so that we can improve how we deal with work.

Through interesting guest interviews and solo episodes, host Aoife O’Brien covers four main themes: leadership equity; engagement and belonging; productivity and performance; and the future of work. 5. Sold a Story

Why this podcast?

I love this story about the building blocks of having a conversation—learning how to read. Much of our communication is done online and through texts so being a good reader is key to forming bonds and getting out your feelings.

Millions of kids can't read well. Scientists have known for decades how children learn to read, but many schools don’t know about the research. They buy teacher training and books that are rooted in a disproven idea. In Sold a Story, Emily Hanford investigates four authors and a publishing company that have made millions selling this idea. The podcast has won some of the biggest awards in journalism. Twenty-five states (and counting) have changed their reading laws because of it.
