The best podcasts for Christian Creatives

Who am I?

I've been a musician since I could barely walk...and since then I've played in all kinds of wonderful places and with amazing artists. I grew up in Northwest Florida, came to Miami the day before a major hurricane, and I've been here with my wife and now-grown kids for over 30 years. I am on the ministry staff at my church, Metro Life Church in Miami, and it was when I joined that church that I realized I could navigate the world of ministry and the music / arts industry at the same time. My life revolves around my faith in God, my love of all things creative and my desire to see people grow in community, so I ended up creating a platform that hits all three of those areas. You could say

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

The God and Gigs Show explores the intersection of faith, entrepreneurship and creativity, specifically tailored for Christian creatives. It's a unique platform for Christian creatives to engage in conversations surrounding their faith, creativity, and professional pursuits. I aim to inspire, empower, and equip my fellow creatives who seek to express their artistic gifts in alignment with their Christian beliefs. I've always made sure to provide guidance and spiritual encouragement to artists across various disciplines, including music, writing, visual arts, and more. The show is NOT about me, but I draw on my experiences as a musician and author to engage with my guests who are prominent figures in the creative world. By sharing their stories, challenges, and triumphs, we help all of my listeners to become the creatives they were created to be. I love all kinds of podcasts on faith, christianity and creativity, and The God and Gigs Show exists to fill in any gaps in the conversations with artists in the mainstream when they can't share their faith out loud on their jobs. We recognize that Christian creatives not only need spiritual encouragement but also practical tools to succeed in their artistic pursuits. By featuring guests who have achieved notable success while maintaining their Christian values, we seek to equip our listeners with tangible strategies, resources, and inspiration.

What is my podcast playlist about?

All of the podcasts in this list are comprehensive and well-rounded resources for individuals seeking inspiration, guidance, and community in their creative journeys as Christians and artists. I looked specifically for podcasts that have a unique perspective, offer practical tools, provide spiritual encouragement, and the opportunity to learn from accomplished individuals who have successfully integrated their faith and creativity.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. The Thriving Christian Artist

Why this podcast?

It's impossible to talk about Christian creatives without starting with Matt Tommey. He has led the charge for Christian creatives to thrive in the marketplace for decades, and he is as warm and authentic as he is brilliant in his strategic thinking and business coaching. Above all, he lets the Holy Spirit lead his business even as it grew beyond his personal art studio. Episodes and interviews (Including when I was interviewed on his show - wink wink) are always engaging and don't have a lot of 'fluff". Highly recommended.
