Who am I?

Waves Across The Water is a weekly music discussion podcast hosted by Keith & Huxy. We're two huge music fans talking about what we like, what we don't like and each episode we try to take a unique topic to discuss in the hope that not only do you enjoy the show but you take something away from it, such as learning something new or checking out a new band we speak about and potentially finding your new favourite band! We take a 'round the table' approach, keeping it laid back but informative at the same time. Thanks for checking us out and we hope you enjoy the list!! Everyone loves finding new music, be it a band or a solo artist and we really want to try and build a platform to help that happen as well as other podcasters in the same niche as us. We've loved music for over 40 years combined and attended countless shows, read books on them and also listened to podcasts! So we want to share what we have learned across the years.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

We are both passionate about music and we love talking about music so it's a no brainer for us. In our podcast episodes we pick a 'Top 5' to discuss, we choose album's that have had an impact on our lives in some way, or we ask our listeners to suggest topics that we can discuss! We've attended many concerts over the years, read a lot of information about bands and just thought it was time to share what we know with our listeners in the hope we can pass on that (possibly very random!) knowledge and learnings.

What is my podcast playlist about?

We want to help bring attention to the newer and lesser known bands helping to build the future of not just rock and metal, but music in general as an art form. If we can point just one new listener to each band we discuss, then they tell a friend that is exactly what we are out to help do. This list is also helping bring in listeners to others that are doing the same thing that we are, and we are forever grateful for the newer band keeping music alive and well for our enjoyment!!

The podcasts I picked and why

1. That's Not Metal

Why this podcast?

This is one of the first podcasts I started listening to which didn't just go over the weekly music news but featured upcoming bands as well. I have found so many favourites from listening to these episodes, and for that I thank the podcast!

2. Concerts That Made Us

Why this podcast?

This is a great format for a podcast. Interesting, with fantastic special guests but as I've previously stated, it has such a broad range of concerts that you can discover new music and bands that you may have never looked into before.

4. The Metal Hammer Podcast

Why this podcast?

This is also one of the 'early listens' in which we used to find out new bands and just hearing the hosts talk about music and bands, as if they were in a pub or bar. Always had a relaxed feel to it, and while there haven't been any new episodes in a while there's still plenty of content to listen back to (which we occasionally do!).

5. I Could Murder A Podcast

Why this podcast?

The last pick is not music based, but it is a great podcast and the hosts Ben and Tom really do their research, have great connection in their hosting and really do cover a lot of eerie topics - something most metalheads can enjoy as horror and true crime features highly in our community!!
