Who am I?

I'm a singer, songwriter and abuse advocate, Host of the Wounds of the Faithful podcast, Facilitator of Mending the Soul groups. I am a survivor myself and I wanted to help others going through the same thing. I started mentoring and podcasting, as well as writing music about it.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

My podcast is called The Wounds of the Faithful. I help Christians heal from domestic violence, abuse and trauma. I have survivor interviews, industry experts and inspirational music.

What is my podcast playlist about?

There are so many advocates out there I have met that are doing a fantastic job helping survivors. I like to promote them.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. The Speaking Out on Sex Abuse Podcast

Why this podcast?

Jimmy Hinton and his Mom Clara know first hand about sexual abuse after Jimmy's father went to prison for sexually abusing children in his church, as well as Jimmy's sister. They have done so much research on how to protect your family and church from pedophiles. Jimmy is a pastor and also talks about what the bible says about abusers. I highly recommend this podcast.

Jimmy Hinton, a minister, and his mother, Clara Hinton, reported Jimmy's father when a victim reported to them that she'd been abused. Sadly, this is rare. Churches typically defend and protect abusers. This show is dedicated to the millions of survivors who have been mistreated or not believed by the church. Jimmy and Clara wish to bring hope to survivors and shift the current culture in the churches that are perpetuating abuse.

2. A Little Bit Culty

Why this podcast?

Although it is not a Christian podcast, the host does a good job of educating listeners about what a cult is and the different kinds of cults. They have powerful guests on the show who tell their stories. They offer resources on recovering from cults as well. Great show!

Think you might be in a cult? Want to know the signs? Join Sarah Edmondson and Anthony “Nippy” Ames to talk about things that are..a little bit culty. Or in their case: a whole bunch of culty. As whistleblowers documented in the critically-acclaimed HBO series “The Vow,” Sarah and Nippy have a lot to say about their experience, and burning questions to ask people with similar stories. They’re here to help people understand, heal from, and avoid abusive situations one little red flag at a time. Listen in as they share their stories, have frank and unscripted conversations with other survivors and cult experts, and do a deep dive on how devotion can turn to dysfunction.

5. Live the Bible with Wayne Stiles

Why this podcast?

This is my favorite bible podcast. I recommend this podcast because abuse survivors have a hard time with the Bible and Christianity. Wayne is a very gifted communicator presenting the Scriptures in a way people people can understand. He is not afraid to tackle those really difficult or unpleasant passages either. You will like his humourous stories, his knowledge of the Bible and compassionate manner. Wayne wants everyone to know the real God of the Bible.
