The best podcasts about podcasts and podcasting

Who am I?

I have discovered a new lease of life through podcasting. Starting my podcast Creativity Found in lockdown has introduced me to so many fabulous people and opportunities. What started as an idea out-of-the-blue has turned into an absolute passion. Ever since starting my own podcast – Creativity Found – from my home office, I've been keen to learn about podcasting, from production to promotion.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

Creativity Found is all about inspiring adults to get creative. In the show i speak with guests who have found or re-found their creativity later in life. We explore my guests' childhood experiences of the arts, discuss how they came to the artistic practices they now love and that benefit their whole lives, and consider the barriers to creativity that they experienced between the two. My guests are proponents of visual, written and performing arts, with similarities and wild differences in their experiences. We discuss what it is that people value and gain from their new-found artistic experiences, and how their creative lives enrich their practical, necessary, everyday lives.

What is my podcast playlist about?

Podcasts and podcasting. I love podcasts about podcasts and podcasting, hearing other podcasters speak about the ins and outs of podcasting - don't all podcasters love to get meta? I want to keep up with what's going on in the industry – from tech to marketing opportunities, other shows and possible collaborations – and the best way for me to do that is to listen to the experts while I walk the dog, or in the car.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. PodPod

Why this podcast?

A weekly show about podcasts and the business of podcasting. Light, funny, industry and independent relevant. I like that, despite speaking to 'bigger' podcasters they also consider the independent podcaster when they ask their questions. Each week they also talk about what's new in the world of podcasting, then go to the guest.

All over the world, podcasts are helping creators and audiences connect with each other on the topics they’re passionate about. Whether you’re interested in cooking or crime stories, business growth or Buffy The Vampire Slayer, there’s a podcast out there for everyone - and there’s never been a better time to get involved.

From the makers of Campaign, PodPod’s editorial mission is to serve the people that make podcasting happen, from the talented professionals in front of and behind the microphone, to the platforms, commissioners, advertisers and media agencies fuelling its explosive growth. We make sense of the strategies and business models that can help you produce, grow and monetise your podcast, and provide expert market analysis allowing advertisers to extract the maximum value from their investments.

PodPod delivers breaking industry news, in-depth insights, expert equipment reviews, and much more. To find out more about how to make podcasting work for you, visit us at podpod.com, sign up for our daily bulletin, or subscribe to the PodPod Podcast wherever you listen to podcasts. Hosted by Rhianna Dhillon, and produced by Emma Corsham for Haymarket Business Media.

Why this podcast?

Despite having, sadly, stopped now, this radio show was a great resource for people looking for new podcasts to listen to, and there is a back catalogue of over 200 episodes to listen to as podcasts. There's a particularly good episode on Creativity from 22/07/2022, which features me!

The Pod Bible Podcast is the podcast podcast where podcasters talk to podcasters about podcasts and podcasting. Does it get anymore meta?

Brought to you by the team behind Pod Bible magazine (the UK's first ever publication dedicated to podcasts) the show is hosted by editors Adam Richardson and Stu Whiffen and will occasionally feature Pod Bible co-founder, Scroobius Pip.

Each fortnight we'll be bringing you a bite size, magazine style show featuring three guests talking about their show or the shows they enjoy listening to. The aim is to give you a chance to hear from your favourite podcasters while also introducing you to people and podcasts you may not be aware of yet.

Guests include the people behind podcasts such as No Such Thing As A Fish, Football Ramble, Griefcast, Films To Be Buried With, Drunk Women Solving Crime and many, many more. Let's spread the word of pod!

The Pod Bible Podcast is available to listen to on Acast, Spotify, Apple Podcasts and all good podcast outlets and is also very proud to be brought to you in association with Audible.
