Who am I?

I'm Arielle Nissenblatt, founder of EarBuds Podcast Collective and head of community and content at SquadCast.fm. I want YOU to find your next favorite podcast right now! I love celebrating the cultural traditions of Judaism without going to synagogue. These podcasts are a great way to tap into Judaism without necessarily bringing god into the picture.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

My podcast is a great way to discover more podcasts! It features podcast trailers for other shows with a bit of discussion from me and my co-host.

What is my podcast playlist about?

This playlist contains podcasts about and surrounding Judaism. There are some shows that are explicitly Jewish while others are just Jew-ish. If that makes sense...

2. Counter Programming with Shira & Arielle

Why this podcast?

This is a show that me and my friend Shira started during the pandemic that was meant to be a "pandemic distraction-cast." We ran it for about two years. And while it was never a Jewish podcast, explicitly, we touched on a number of Jewish topics throughout our slate.

Counter Programming with Shira & Arielle is your new favorite coronavirus/COVID-19 distraction podcast. Join this duo as they embark on a quest to bring the world counter programming of all kinds. They'll focus on countertops (namely, they're doing a series on marble, granite, and quartz), time counters, calorie counters, counters of other kinds... Each episode will be a mix of comedy and fun facts that no one knew they ever needed. Shira and Arielle have been friends for 5 years. They met in Jackson, Mississippi during their first job post-college at the Institute of Southern Jewish Life (yes, there are Jews in Mississippi). They lived 4 doors from one another. Now that they're on opposite sides of the country and experiencing intense anxiety due to the constant barrage of bad news surrounding coronavirus, they decided they needed a distraction. This distraction comes in the form of a podcast. Shira and Arielle are bringing you... Counter Programming. Tune in for stories, useless (read v. important) facts, and so much more. Episodes will be released weekly and will be available wherever you get your podcasts.Follow us on Instagram: @counterprogrammingpodFollow Shira on Twitter: @shishimoskFollow Arielle on Twitter: @ariellethisandthatYou can email us at [email protected]

Using archival material and interviews with surviving cast and crew members, Forward executive editor Adam Langer presents a story that’s never been told: the backstory of "The Diary of Anne Frank," the Pulitzer Prize-winning play and Oscar-winning film, and how this iconic work shapes those involved in performing it — including high school students putting the show on today. The Diary of Anne Frank, which debuted on Broadway in 1955 and then later toured the country, was one of the most influential plays of the 20th century, and a life-changing experience for many of those who saw it. It introduced millions of Americans to the Holocaust and its victims. But what did reenacting Anne’s story mean to the people who created and acted in the play or the 1959 film? How did dramatizing her life affect their lives and careers? Who were they? In seven episodes, “Playing Anne Frank” weaves together stories of art and culture and, ultimately, deep humanity. Produced by Cole Locascio, and featuring original music by Emmy award-winning composer Sila Shaman, performed by Shaman and Grammy-nominated musician Anat Cohen. Some episodes contain mild language and discussion of adult themes.
