Who am I?

I have been running The Culture podcast since August of 2020 now and we mainly focus on the trending topics in the world of Hip Hop culture, racism, and social commentary from the perspective of an Afro-Latino duo. very passionate about having an opinion and having my voice and the voice of others heard. The pandemic changed the world, and being stuck at home for virtually 2 years, allowed me to actually speak more, watch the news more, and read more. Which in turn allowed me to express more and have more opinions on things. Me and my co-host, Anthony, would speak on the phone almost daily about everything that was going on in the world, in politics, sports, and within our cultures. After a while of these random discussions, a podcast seemed like the right and obvious next move.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

As of this writing we have over 140 episodes of The Culture podcast and we are still going strong. Discussing everything pop and Hip-Hop culture, urban life, racism, and social commentary on trending and political topics. The playlist I have created showcases my favorite up and coming shows that discuss a variety of topics that may appeal to a vast and diverse audience who may not know they exist yet.

What is my podcast playlist about?

It is about diversity, Culture, entertainment, and information. All the podcasts on this list accomplish each one of these. They are informative. They entertain. They are diverse, and they speak on the culture.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. Mikey and Rinne Eat In

Why this podcast?

This show rebranded itself from a paternity journey podcast named Mikey and Rinne Stay In, to a foody, recipe, and comedic podcast named Mikey and Rinne Eat In. Mikey and Rinne are awesome. They are witty, funny, smart, and entertaining. the episodes are typically never too long and at around 30-40 minutes, they are just the right length. They are on my playlist when I have time to listen to a podcast on the go or while I work.

we eat. you listen. Join Mikey and Rinne each week as they explore new recipes and ingredients, discuss food history and politics and try not to chew loudly while talking into the microphone. Lots of swearing and stupid humor served as condiments. You’re welcome. Let’s EAT!

2. Grandpa & Chill

Why this podcast?

Grandpa and Chill is like a podcast potpourri. You never know what you are going to get as every episode is a different story, journey, guest, or adventure. They are funny, informational, and their panel of speakers is very diverse. Of course, the star of the show is Grandpa who hangs out with his grandson Brandon and his cast of millennials to exchange stories and ideas and learn from each other. Cool show.

3. The Culture

Why this podcast?

Of course, I listen to my own show. Sometimes I go back and listen to some of my own episodes and learn from them, reminisce about things I might have forgotten were said, or listen for nuances and ways to improve. Most people don't like the sound of their own voice, but I have moved past that stage in my life, and I am now very proud of The Culture podcast and the entertainment and educational value that me and Ant bring to the table. As cocky as it may sound, I think our podcast is one of the best untapped and underground podcasts out there. If you are part of the culture of if you are simply a fan of it, tune in because you will fall in love with us and our opinions.

4. Drink Champs

Why this podcast?

Not because this is one of the most popular shows out there right now, but because their core audience is probably the same as our core audience at The Culture. I am a Hip-Hop head, and I grew up listening to 80s and 90s Hip Hop music. So, listening to Nore and EFN is always a fun time especially when most of their guests are people you grew up following.

5. The Joe Budden Podcast

Why this podcast?

Joe Budden is nothing more than controversial in nature and a contrarian. Always has been always will be. Drama and "beef" always seem to find him, and he never has any issue expressing his opinions of others no matter what that might lead to. Many a beef has been started because of this podcast and it remains one of the top shows in Hip Hop culture.
