This podcast contains the recordings of both trumpet parts, played as a duet. As a resource for trumpet students and trumpet teachers, David has also recorded each of these duets in a trumpet 2 only version that can be used as a play along. “Every Voice with Terrance McKnight” is a show that spotlights the vibrant stories and perspectives that reflect the whole of the American musical experience. There are many different kinds of classical music, depending on where you are in the world. While this music typically preserves the traditions of a given society, classical music in America remains wedded to its Western European roots. On this show, we want to know why — and what America’s classical music really sounds like. Through interviews, historical investigation, and personal storytelling, Terrance McKnight unearths the hidden voices that have been shaping our musical traditions all along. Our debut season examines the representation of Blackness in opera. While character flaws are universal, stereotypes often fall along racial lines. We look at the loneliness, jealousy, self-loathing, and cultural appropriation associated with African characters in 18th and 19th century operas by Mozart and Verdi, and we introduce the African-American personalities found in the operas of Atlanta-based composer Dr. Sharon Willis.

The Bible read to classical music daily.

The concept is simple. The Bible is read over suitable classical music by the Greats and never heard before music composed and performed by John Richmond. All of John's music can be found on all major streaming platforms. Search for "J Richmond." All links to the albums can be found at www.ClassicallySpeaking.co.uk

Season 1 has the Bible read over classical music by famous composers eg Beethoven and Rachmaninov. Season two focuses on the New Testament with a passage being read every day for a year.

You could read the passage for yourself first. Then listen to it being read by John allowing the Bible passage to come alive in your mind.

The idea is to reflect on the Bible passage, improving your mood as you use the music and readings to meditate and clear your mind from everyday noise. Take deep breaths, focus on your senses and listen to your body.

Christian meditation encourages you to also look towards God, as well as into yourself. The world is getting busier and there are so many things demanding our attention. Now is the time to take “you time” and focus on what is important.

There are no sermons or commentaries. No-one gives their opinions or preaches. It is simply the Bible being read. You connect with the passages anyway you want to. Get to know the Bible in a year in a new and exciting way.

A new episode is published every day at 9am.

You can become a Yahway member and gain access to all the passages with timings, early releases, bonus videos and you can request your favourite Bible passage to be read. You can also ask John to record a personal message for you, for example wishing a loved one a Happy birthday or happy anniversary.

John studied his Masters of Theology at Glasgow University and is also a Religious Education teacher in a secondary school in Scotland. He has also written a commentary on the Bible that can be ordered from Amazon called “What’s the Good News for today?”

Whether you have faith, no faith or if you are developing your faith, these podcasts are for you.

Become a Yahway member and enjoy lots of benefits including listening to bonus tracks, downloading the readings with timings, requesting a Bible passage to be read by John and even ask John to record a personal greeting for you or a loved one. There are three tiers to choose from. Sign up now at https://plus.acast.com/s/classically-speaking.
