Who am I?
I am Zolgar, 33% of Two Idiots and a Dog, a certified media junky (I made myself the certificate, shut up), and all around nerd. When not podcasting I am either working my day jobs, watching movies, playing video games, building Gunpla models, reading comics, or in my workshop trying to build something interesting and/or dangerous. Since I'm a media junky, I decided to share some of my favorite pods for different media formats. These are the shows I listen to when I want to hear about a specific type of entertainment media.

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?
My podcast, Two Idiots and a Dog, is an entertainment media and pop-culture show where two professional Idiots who consume entirely too much media review movies and talk about whatever stupid idea pops into their heads. We like to discuss tropes and themes in media, media franchises, and ideas presented to us in media. We also like to sometimes discuss "political" topics in media, such as diversity and representation, and the fandom. Plus, we have a cute dog as a mascot/the brains of the operation.
What is my podcast playlist about?
I feel like I answered this question above. I don't think these are precisely worded the best. So. Media podcasts. That's what it's about, yeah!
1. Film Rage
Why this podcast?
Three Canadian Idiots, who are allergic to fun (according to Grimm) discuss movies. Often insightful and never boring, this is my go-to film podcast. Their rating system is pretty simple, and while I don't often agree with them, they can often give me a good idea of what I might be getting into with films I'm unfamiliar with. Plus it's really fun when they have to watch a *really bad* movie like Big Momma's House 27.

A lot of great insight on anime, an area where my expertise is a bit lacking, paired with some fun discussions, and a smooth voice that's just soothing to listen to. Anime Talk! is my go-to when I'm looking for something shorter and chill to listen to while I work.

3. Multiverse of Badness Comic Book Review
Why this podcast?
Comics are a great medium for telling serious stories and exploring social/political issues. ... and then there's what these guys talk about. Diving into comics new and old and picking out the terrible, ridiculous and just plain *bad* comics to read and review, this is another show that is always hilarious as they really do review some of the most horrifically ill-conceived comics in history.

Why this podcast?
I don't read as much as I used to (stupid depression), but I used to be an avid reader who devoured books, and I like to keep an ear to the literary world when I can. John has some great insights, and you can tell he has a love of books with every episode.

5. I'm A Sophisticate and So Can You!
Why this podcast?
"Queer millennials talk about media" is practically it's own podcast genre at this point. Sophisticate started around the same time we did, and I enjoy their model, especially as someone who, despite being a media junky, is often missing some of the big, important pieces of pop-culture history. I enjoy their insights, they have good chemistry, and are a couple of giant nerds with whom I could probably sit down and chat with about nothing and everything for 7 hours.
