The best podcasts for Remote Workers

Who am I?

My name is Don, and I am a podcasting addict. I first guested on a podcast a few years back representing my former company on an industry-related podcast. Then my 11-year-old son wanted to start his own Twitch channel and instead of having a channel showing his face, we launched The Middle School Mind podcast. So for an amazing 18+ months and over 30+ episodes, we launched The Middle School Mind and had a blast. When he was over the podcast, I was sad. And I wanted to do another show. In February 2023, I launched the Work From Home Forever podcast. This podcast interviews remote workers and we discuss how they manage their careers in a work from home environment. We talk about managing and leading teams, and how they balance work and life in that environment. I started my career in the late 1990's and my career was 100% in-office, Monday through Friday, with the traditional 8 to 5. As I advanced in my career and changed companies, there were technological changes (laptops, VPNs, etc) and I gradually saw the transition from 100% in-office to hybrid. Fast forward to 2020. COVID. Global lock down. What do we do? Many companies were forced into a new way of working, and I would say everyone rallied and did as best as we can in the face of the situation. Now WFH seems to be a polarizing topic. Some companies hate it and want everyone to return to office. Critics say work from home erodes company culture, stifles creativity and employees are less effective working from home. The Work From Home Forever podcast provides a forum for those who want to share their stories how they manage their careers, lead their teams and get sh*t done in a remote environment.

What is my podcast playlist about?

Professionals who are managing their careers, leading teams, supporting customers and managing work and life in a work from home environment.

3. Humanity Working

Why this podcast?

This podcast is focused on how remote work can be adjusted and tweaked to fit the needs of different organizations. 100% remote may work for an online organization, but if hybrid scenarios work for the company and its employees, this show aims to highlight that as well.

5. Jim and Barb Work From Home

Why this podcast?

Jim and Barb are siblings and they started this podcast during the height of the pandemic. They are goofy and I love their random banter. The other podcasts on my list are more serious about remote work issues and topics. I figured I needed to have a little light-hearted show from two remote work enthusiasts on this list. Plus, you need to support those indie podcasters!

I guess we have a podcast now? Jim and Barb are siblings who sit down to chat on the internet because nobody is going outside anymore.
