My first stop in learning about Scotland was to learn about its history. The host of this show Owen Innes - who has been a guest on 63 Percent Scottish - is a master of producing short, informative and engaging episodes about every era in Scotland's exciting and harrowing history.

Food is a massively underrated part of culture. Yes, it's hard to understand food culture without, you know, eating the food, but Scran does it. Host Rosalind Erskine - a guest on 63 Percent Scottish - talks to chefs, journalist and celebrities, and reviews whisky and food from across Scotland. Excellent show.

The National Trust for Scotland plays an important role in making sure some of the most important places in Scotland are preserved for future generations - everything from castles to full islands! The host, Jackie Bird, is a legend in Scottish broadcasting and every discussion is extremely interesting and informative.

The Thistle Do Nicely podcast is on an extended hiatus (it's over, maybe?) but it's also an incredible window into Scottish culture. The three hosts are Scots who live in the United States and reflect on their own Scottishness while tackling subjects from whisky to Bonnie Prince Charlie. They're also hilarious.

If you know nothing about Scottish football, this is the way to get up to speed in a hurry.
