Who am I?

I'm a guitar player living in Seattle with my wife and two small dogs Ozzie, and Niko. I love guitars, guitar culture, amps and music. I've played guitar all my life in bands around the Pacific Northwest. I also have friends who own guitar stores, and I spend a lot of time loitering, and drooling over the many guitars I'll never be able to afford. I also have a couple podcasts dedicated to guitars, guitars culture, and the arts.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

I co-host a podcast with Chris Cline called Chris and Rick Talk Guitars. Chris and I get into the headspace of guitar, and guitar culture. We love talking about how we all share the many quirks associated with guitar players: the superstition, the romance, brand loyalty, and many other facets of this topic.

What is my podcast playlist about?

My playlist is a collection of my favorite podcasts related to guitars, amps, and music. I hope people discover some new content that they may not have heard before.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. The Truth About Vintage Amps with Skip Simmons

Why this podcast?

I love this one because not only is Skip a renowned amp repair man, he's also a colorful character. He shares his knowledge of amplifiers, and various food suggestions, and recipes as well. And Jason Verlinde is a great co-host who also operates the Fretboard Journal which is a beautiful magazine dedicated to guitars, and guitar culture.

2. The High Gain

Why this podcast?

As a guitar player I really enjoy the way these two go deep into guitar geekery, and gear. They're both very knowledgable, and entertaining.
