Who am I?
After spending over a decade in Nashville's music industry, I've been diligently crafting my own brand and venturing into the world of podcasting since 2021. My focused approach to helping fellow podcasters monetize centers around three key avenues: incorporating programmatic ads for a steady monthly income, leveraging Apple Podcasts subscriptions to foster a dedicated subscriber base while offering an ad-free alternative for listeners, and establishing integrated presenting sponsorships for strategic brand collaborations. In August 2023, a realization dawned on me - for the initial two years of my entrepreneurial journey, I'd been seeking answers and guidance in all the wrong places. It was time for a significant shift in my life, my business, and on my podcast. Fueled by the impact of episode #115, my testimony, my podcast, 'You Get What I'm Saying' (formerly titled 'Podfluencer Society'), has transformed into an invitation to authentically and lightheartedly explore life through the lens of the girlfriend in your earbuds. I chose to curate a "best podcasts for growth-focused podcasters" list, because I have a deep belief in the upward trajectory of the podcasting industry and a strong desire to support fellow podcasters in their journey towards creating time and financial freedom through the podcast medium. My experiences in the entertainment business given me valuable insights into the dynamics of building successful brands. These experiences, combined with my own foray into podcasting and sharing the highs and lows of building my own brand, have equipped me with a unique perspective and expertise in understanding the needs and challenges faced by growth-focused podcasters. By curating this list, I aim to provide a valuable resource for podcasters, offering them access to high-quality content that can inspire, educate, and empower them to achieve their goals in the ever-evolving world of podcasting. Learn from history's greatest entrepreneurs. Every week I read a biography of an entrepreneur and find ideas you can use in your work. This quote explains why: "There are thousands of years of history in which lots and lots of very smart people worked very hard and ran all types of experiments on how to create new businesses, invent new technology, new ways to manage etc. They ran these experiments throughout their entire lives. At some point, somebody put these lessons down in a book. For very little money and a few hours of time, you can learn from someone’s accumulated experience. There is so much more to learn from the past than we often realize. You could productively spend your time reading experiences of great people who have come before and you learn every time." —Marc Andreessen
