The best podcasts for Founders

Who am I?

I am a 2 x author, host of the Danielle Newnham Podcast, and recovering founder, having started in my first startup back in 2006! I am passionate about empowering founders through inspiring stories where other founders share their back-stories and lessons, including how they got started, how they innovated and how they, ultimately, succeeded. Since I was a child, I have been fascinated and inspired by the back-stories of high achievers and when I entered the startup world, I devoured Jess Livingston's Founders at Work book which had a huge influence on me. I also found the tech/business "press" mainly focused on the negative stories and founders vs those doing important work so I set about finding tech founders and innovators who had shaped/were shaping one of the most important and game-changing industries of our time because I knew that those stories would inspire and empower others to build. I am the author of two books including Female Innovators at Work which featured interviews with 20 inspiring women in tech from those who helped shape the internet such as Radia Perlman and Judy Estrin to Lynda Weinman who sold her business Lynda.com to LinkedIn for $1.5 billion.

Learn from history's greatest entrepreneurs. Every week I read a biography of an entrepreneur and find ideas you can use in your work. This quote explains why: "There are thousands of years of history in which lots and lots of very smart people worked very hard and ran all types of experiments on how to create new businesses, invent new technology, new ways to manage etc. They ran these experiments throughout their entire lives. At some point, somebody put these lessons down in a book. For very little money and a few hours of time, you can learn from someone’s accumulated experience. There is so much more to learn from the past than we often realize. You could productively spend your time reading experiences of great people who have come before and you learn every time." —Marc Andreessen
